    Hey guys,

I am new to all this so I have a quick question about the above controllers/software.

Can I make beats with Maschine in Traktor Pro and edit them with effects on my midi fighter?

    Thanks!

Do I need to download an additional mapping as well?

Are you talking about syncing maschine w/ traktor pro? Or using both the midi fighter and maschine hardware for traktor controller?

I think your asking about using maschine as a sampler and the midi fighter as effect/cue point controller, but a midi fighter is kind of useless w/ a maschine controller because the maschine hardware can be used simultaneously w/ Traktor and its separate software.

I like the midi fighter for cue points, but the maschine controller is much better for effects and overall control of traktor pro. Whats really cool is being able to instantly switch to maschine software to traktor pro template. You can make beats w/ maschine and switch back and forth between ableton live, traktor, or whatever program w/ the same hardware controller. This **** is amazing, I have an x1 controller as well which has also been replaced by maschine controller because its does its functions better.

Go to preferences on traktor and select the option to send midi clock out, and have maschine sync to 'external midi' on the file menu. If your on PC you can either use a physical midi cable(which ive never done, but probably should) or use a virtual midi port like mac users do. I recommend using 'loopbe1', it works pretty good and its free. Now maschine will sync to whatever the master tempo on traktor is.

I use Maschine (hardware)for deck and sound effect control on traktor and maschine with a some template i downloaded from dubspot.com which was mapped by a NI employee/DJ. It works pretty good and is very easy to memorize. The template has some awesome features which made my X1 controller obsolete.

The midi fighter's latest template has the ability to loop and pitch bend and stuff but ive never really used it and since your gonna be using the maschine i suggest using the first midi fighter template that has 8 cue points. Sound effects, looping, beat jumping, scrolling, etc can be done with maschine. The maschine-traktor template i use(probably the best one available) has alot of features but only 5 pads for cueing, so the Midi Fighter becomes useful for its extra cue buttons, i also use its' shift key for deleting and stuff.

You can simultaneously use both programs together and synchronize them. I even synchronized Traktor to Maschine to Ableton live a few days ago to mess around and it works. Maschine(hardware) can control all three programs and each one syncs to their midi clocks. Im not really good at dj'ing w/ Ableton live, but Its possible to integrate them.

If you have any questions, or need help w/ settings you can ask me. I had to figure a lot of stuff out myself when i couldnt find answers online. Google 'loopbe1', it should take u to some german site where u can download it, and try dubspot.com for mapping.
