Solved Maschine Mikro MK3 stuck in DFU Mode

Hi,

I just contacted NI support, but as it may a simple fix and I don't tfind any info elsewhere, I post also there, the answer might help other people in this situation.

I'm on Win 10, last update,
I tried to update my brand new Maschine Mk3 firmware from 3.x to last version (4.8), and now everytime I plug it in any computer (win 10x64 too), the LED display shows me DFU Mode and I can't use it anymore.



It is recognized by the PC in USB device as Maschine Mikro MK3 DFU, but it is not visible anymore in the firmware update utility which told me to to plug my controller and click ReScan... but this don't work.





What does that means ?

How to solve that ?

Did I make something wrong during the firmware update ?

Please note that I do try https://support.native-instruments....he-Firmware-of-My-MASCHINE-MIKRO-MK3-Windows- without any success.

Solved !

I succeed to repair the mashine by relaunching the firmware update from a MacOS with the MacOS firmware updater.

I think the error was with the WIndows version on the firmware updater, so even if I mark this thread as solve, there may be still something to correct on NI side.

Hi, I had to do the exact same thing today for the second time since I got the mikro mk3. Why the heck can't NI fix the windows update program?? A friend had to drive 20miles to save my ass. I hope this get fixed asap.

 

Leif Hallberg So I'm not alone with this, I'm glad this thread helped you fix this.

What bother me is that I had a ticket open on NI support, and they didn't answer me. I also ried to call them several time and I get was an automatic answer. So I finally answer myself when I found a fix, and tell them that the windows firmware can have a bug. They just sent me back a "are you satified by our support" form. Well, without any answer, it is hard to be.

Fortunately moderators like D-One are more willing to help !

The maschine mikro mk3 is really nice and now it is working it is a lot of fun and I like it a lot, especially now that it has a basic but good MIDI mode, it is too bad that my first experience with it was this bug and the no dedicated support issue.

 

Yea, I love this hardware. Just ordered a Maschine JAM aswell

 

Updating with a Mac instead of Windows, did not help my issue. I am still stuck in DFU Mode. Maybe the product is defective?

It makes me genuinely concerned to see reports of NI support not getting back to people. I know we generally only hear the bad reports, but they do appear to be increasing. IMO it paints a pretty bleak picture of the current state of NI, one that is very much at odds to their shiny marketing.

 

hello..now i have my maschine jam and Kontrol m32 in DFU mode so they frezee all the time.....i have no idea how to repair this, unistalling drivers does nothing.
windows 11 here.
