    Hi,

I've just bought Maschine and now I'm looking for best ways to integrate with my S1 setup.

Things I'm looking to get out of the Maschine are hands-on approach for making beats and getting ideas after which it will all be mixed in Studio One.

So far Im using it as VST inside DAW, and having Mackie Control template only for transport controls for studio one. Are there better templates which can utilize maschine hardware completely with S1 ?

Also , anything else to recommend for integration of maschine inside S1 ?

    Help is appreciated.

I'll just say that there are tons of ways to integrate Maschine and a daw but be aware that Maschine 1.8 was the last version with real ease for daw use (using Maschine as a vst in a daw). As you go forward and add expansions and become aware of the new features in Mashine 2.0, you might want to keep 1.8 installed. Maschine 2.0 is not backwards compatible to expansions more than 2 years old but 1.8 is 10 times faster for use in a daw

I'm a Cubase user so I cant give much in the way of Studio One specifics but you will get good info from users here

Is there an option to mute maschine sequencer, when using it as a vst inside another daw ?

Problem is when I record midi inside studio one, I hear double (from both sequencers). Dunno how to deal with that.

    Any ideas ?

regarding midi recording, this is pretty easy in Cubase so should be also in Sudio One. I just hit record in Cubase and I can bang out the pads on Maschine and the midi gets recorded in Cubase. Maschine doesnt record unless "record" is pressed on Maschine.

Ye, the problem is first I save in maschine sequencer some patterns and stuff. I just do the work there. After that I wanna record in S1 and mix over there. When I say I wanna record in S1, I don't mean to actually play it on hardware, I mean I want what is already in maschine sequencer to be now in S1 sequencer for me to continue work. After that recording, since I have midi notes now in both sequencers, I hear double.

I was hoping there is some mute sequencer button in maschine, but I don't see it.

I had to adopt an approach back when I got Maschine and ,to me, it was much easier to record all midi in my daw. Any daw has vastly superior midi controls ,real time manipuation and editing than Maschine's sequencer. The good thing about 1.8 is this is still a version that makes all this really easy. But as I said, there are lots of ways to work with this combination.
