IMO the i3 vs i5 issue is processing power eg. crackling audio when running Vst's, not basic pads/ buttons being non responsive. I think you should send it back under warranty. The i3 comment sounded like a generic AI response from support. BTW I ran Maschine for many years on an i3 with no problems. I'm currently on a 2nd gen i5 which is under powered to any i3 of today.

I will do that and let you know if it works before I send my maschine back for repair.

I really think you have to establish it is the controller that is at fault first because it doesn't neccessarily sound like it is.

I could always take it to Sam Ash after all this to see if the controller is at fault. Additionally, i will try to see if it works on another computer but for that i will have to wait a while.

The i3 comment wasn't from AI; it was from an actual NI team member. I just checked the specs online required to run a Maschine MK3 on a Windows 10 laptop and it says I need an i5 processor or equivalent CPU. At this point I think it's my fault because I never bought a laptop with an i5 processor.

On second thought, I don't think I'll be sending my Maschine in for inspection. I just reinstalled my Maschine software and the same issue exists. I believe it's my fault because I didn't get a laptop with an i5 processor.

have you tried my suggested "method" to completely wipe any maschine driver before reinstalling it? i had problems with my mk3 too at the beginning (had just a JAM before...and somehwere the drivers were "conflicted"...).

i can't believe the "hardware function" needs an i5 to run the controller without errors. it's more about processing power thats needed for the software, so they say you need atleast an i5...

good luck - whatever you do with it ;-)

You already said it was working OK till recently which suggests if it isn't some co-incidental hardware issue that either updating Maschine or Windows has caused the problem.

Turn off any security and run your system offline. Check if it works after that.

Also I had a usb câble go bad so see if it may work with a different usb cable

I tried it with a different USB cable and the problem persisted. But i will try your security suggestion.

Success!! I turned off my firewall, went offline, and even saw that I had to manually allow Maschine 2 to be let through the firewall.

Thank you to all who dedicated their time and efforts to helping me with my MK3 issue, especially tempsperdu. The problem has been solved.

Good to hear. What happens sometimes with security software on a patch update is any usb, FireWire , or thunderbolt port is locked down after a big security update. Next time it happens you know what to do. It can happen again if there is a big update that takes advantages of the ports. Now bang on some pads!

That’s great news. It really sucks when you’re in the mood to make music and something is suddenly not working.

Unfortunately, although for a time my Maschine MK3 was working after fixing my firewall, the issue came back up. I even rechecked my firewall and the issue persists. Any suggestions?

This question right here is that “now I remember why I switched to mac” moment, lol. macOs is not perfect, but I can still control my updates!

Also, awesome to see the problem for this Maschinist was resolved!

My problem was solved until my latest post, so a moderator must update the post to unresolved status.

I actually updated my system today at 3:39pm. I believe this was after the issue with my maschine mk3 reappeared. I tried troubleshooting with my pc so my pc would try resolving itself and it told me that I needed a driver to be completed installed. So, I allowed it to do so after the update and it still doesn;t work. EDIT: Actually, I checked my system update history, and the latest update was 8/31/19.
