    Maxinne troll much?

Yes the pictures look a bit goofy with every single color up but I think that's more to showcase that it can do at least 16 colors. In actual use judging by the screen shots it wouldn't always have all those colors up at once. Either way for a stage performance or long set, colors are a much faster way to tell what is on a pad then trying to read the screen in mute mode or select mode.
Also reading the NI page it seems they have upgraded the pad sensors. For some one who does alot of live finger drumming that's pretty important. I already love the sensitivity of maschine but if it's further improved.... Gimmie that!

well well well the prophecy came true some peeps got crabby when i suggested an updated controller with 1.8 now u aint got **** to say.

the only name that springs to mind is noiserot but there was others was complaining about me spreading lies and deceit but these formerly descenting voices are conspicuously silent in this thread.

please do come and share ur thoughts and apologise for ur insolence when i suggested his very scenario.

also can we now admit that ni were re-adjusting their strategy in light of the announcement of the ren? all the guys that said ni was just clearing stock i know ur u guys pride urselves on being big brain nerds and ur ego is preventing u from making the admission but man up and admit u lacked vison.

despsite all akais failings they are the supreme giant of the professional sampling drum machine world and when they announced this they shook ni up.

as vince said they was forced pull out they finger and changed they whole **** up, cos u guys was not getting no timestretch until the whole software re-write scheduled for 2.0 but when came out flaunting they had to re-adjust and at least give an offline timestretch to ensure no big feature was missing from maschine that the ren had.

also the ren came with the light up multi coloured borders on pads then ni new contoller comes with the multi coloured pads.

maschine had to contend with the flip screen of the ren so they changed the screen display so it is viewable from more angles.

and the data wheel that all u mpc hater love to diss is now featured on maschine, so this is 3 examples of how the ren announcement influenced ni's product desgin , roadmap and strategy.

so u guys really despite all ur intelligence seem to have no commercial awareness of how much a competing product in the same market place can impact product strategy.

    Some extra info:

    Perform in Color
The new color-coding lets you ‘see’ your sounds, and it will turbo-charge your workflow.

Simply assign colors to the groups, sounds, patterns, and scenes, and see the pads and group buttons on the hardware light up in the same colors. Make your kick drums red, for example, and you’ll always know which pads play your kicks. Add some color to your performances!

And with the increased sensitivity of the new pads, you also have a new level of precision at your fingertips.

    New Master Section
The Master section has been redesigned. Control volume, tempo and swing with the new multifunction master push encoder – select modes with the new toggle buttons and accurately click through values without having to look at the screen or display.

Navigating and scrubbing are much easier, and changing note pitch and detailed tweaking becomes extra-precise thanks to the encoder’s superb physical response.

Now with 47 white, backlit click-buttons and colored transport controls, the Mk2 hardware provides a wealth of physical and visual excitement for intuitive beat making.

    New Look and Feel
The new hardware is a leap forward in usability, reliability and aesthetics. The inverted displays provide higher contrast, a better viewing angle for performance or studio, and a sharper look in dark environments.

Slightly heavier than before, the controller also works better in a studio set-up and on stage due to the re-worked layout of the controller’s USB-connector and MIDI I/O – less risk of accidental unplugging. Plus, new rubber feet mean increased grip on the desktop, keeping the hardware firmly in place during even the most aggressive beat routines.

Maxinne first off no one here is your son. Second nothing but negative comments after three different posts comes off as trolling third you have no clue "where I am in life" .
I am a long time mpc user to... So what do I get a prize? Gtfo with that nonsense. So being stuck in the past is a goodthing? Some of us actually do shows and use maschine live. Some of us like to know what the software is doing without having to look at a screen , read fine print or memorize 15 songs in a set and where every sample is in that set. I've done that for over 10 years and it gets very old.
Your absolutely entitled to your opinion but ur tone was less of quality conversation and more of trolling. Much like ur comment to jahrome when he mentioned he would be buying one. Useless.

So everyone is going to run out and buy a whole new hardware piece ( if they are even going to sell it separately and if they do how long will you have to wait for back orders cause now all the DJ's will want this for traktor ) Just because of the new colored pads..

yes they look cool on the F1 I got that too, but the software upgrade should be free for existing owners anyways so no need to get all excited just yet because although it says off line time stretch what ever that means it just some new colors and a couple new buttons..

too rainbow for me... I mean the little F1 is cool like that but 16 big ass pads of gayness? lol just kidding but still I should be at the rave with some "candee" with the controller !

this sounds very exciting but the assigning colours to groups that came right out of the ren playbook (im just saying)

but since i got 3 or 4 dead pads on my controller i might have to buy in to 1.8 but the ren coming the games truly do begin when these drops should be a great battle but there is room for both in the market who know i might end up with both new controllers

Would comment again but ur not worth the time...

The colored pads, new jog wheel set up, line of magnetic assessories , inverted screens and increased pad sensitivity etc kinda point to a longer development time than would back to namm. So I have a feeling this was in the works for a whole. Especially considering at the NI advanced preview party at namm when they first showed the F1 in house. They mentioned how it would tie in deeper with maschine and that they were working on tighter integration with traktor for quite some time. We are now seeing fruit of a more than year and a half of development. So do I think it's a direct response to the MPC ren? Not really... Is the timing to kinda take wind out of the ren release sales mmmm probably. ;) I have ideo of that event that I haven't released (the Jeremy Ellis, tim exile and Dj shiftee routine was amazing but the video is done on iPhone and the bass is kinda lacking) maybe I should post some snippets of that?

To be honest, I think the colours come straight out of the F1 playbook, and were pretty much inevitable once that was announced. The encoder in the revamped master section does seem to take the lead from the classic MPC though. It seems to have additional functionality as regards "scrubbing' etc.

Anyone thinking this is a response to the ren is delusional, especially when NI already showed where they were going color pad wise with the Traktor F1....which was done at NAMM when the ren was merely an announcement lol. There's no way NI saw the Ren and said hey let's make a new controller in a few months....you guys should know better than that, come on fellas it's obvious with the magnetic faceplate, custom kits, etc...this has been in the works all along.

Either way, it's just a refresh to me, doesn't look like the total controller rebuild many of us are waiting for so..... I'm still looking forward to the actual next version of Maschine, and not just an update, so that we can see a totally new controller.

As for the colors, you don't have to use them, they probably just put them all on there to show the options. You can still have all your pads the same color. I personally dig the inverted screen which will be good for my videos. I'm also looking forward to the improved usb port, let's face it, the original sucks and the mikro was way better, so if it's like the Mikro...good stuff.

But, the fact that it will not be required for 1.8 is also a good thing imo.

Ok well you said it was out of warrranty then said 6 months and they were busted..
I wholeheartedly agree with the crossgrade and it will happen, they've already got it in the shop. Albeit the wrong picture because I sure as hell know no one will be buying and original controller with no software for $449. Oh and you can take your hook and hang from it bud, like I'm here for your approval.. Pfft please!

I do like the new USB on the F1 wayyy better..

I wish they would put an audio interface inside Maschine though I thought for sure that would be in the next hardware upgrade.

I still don't see the need for an interface inside the controller. it just adds weight and size I'd rather use my high quality interfaces I already have. but maybe for shows it could be nice to not have one extra thing to plug in....

"People, I just want to say, you know, can we all get along?"

So as far as I can tell they are offering "replacement" Maschine hardware for current owners, but it looks like it is only the MK1, not the MKII. The price also looks to be the same as.. that's weird.. i swear i saw a replacement controller for sale, but now i cant find it.. It was the same price as the earlier sale, but its the hardware only - no software included. Odd..

One thing is if you check the link to Guitar Center they say theirs are shipping Sep 21st vs NI webstore Oct 1st. Also NI says they are $669 vs Guitar Center $599. PLUS you can add a 15% discount for Labor Day if you Pre-Order by Sept 3, and your total is $500! Now that is something I'm gonna jump on!

+1. I have a high quality interface in my studio, with all my gear plugged in. When I want to use Maschine away from there, I just unplug it, stick it in my bag with my laptop, and use the onboard sound. Don't need to spend hours unplugging cable, and don't need an integrated interface!

I'm not sure that the product page is "finished". They've still got loads of stuff about 1.6 presented as "new features" on it.

I still hope for a "deluxe" controller with integrated audio interface. I'm sure this will come anytime, because NI has the knowledge to develop great audio interfaces.
