Maschine noob questions.

Hello,

Have some patience with me I'm really new to all of this and my english is not so great.
I have become very interested in beat making after some extensive play with an iphone app called beat Maker
I would like to learn a few things and buy some equipment.
I did some reading online and from what I understand I will ned a DAW, a midi keyboard controller and a lot of patience.
Instead of using a Daw the likes of Cubase, wich at the moment I am completely lost in it and not sure what does what, Can i just use NI Maschine to start making some beats and learning how to sample?
I watched a few tutorials on You Tube ont he Maschine and it seems to me that it will be the easyer way to begin.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
