    Cheers,

how to say? beeing a loyal NI user for a couple now and bought many things, i was thinkin for the last weeks to drop my M-Audio Delta to get the Komplete Audio 6.

Now they advertised in Facebook the owners of MASCHINE get the discount, then on the website it says only the one WHO BUY A NEW MASCHINE

    :(

    major disappointment....

I'm also thinking of buying a KA6 and have a few questions (sorry for hijacking your thread lol).

Is it true that it has weak phantom power? I have a Shure KSM27 and would be disappointing if it would cause hiccups during recording.

I currently have a Focusrite Saffire FireWire interface. Will downgrading to USB result in loss of performance/sound quality?

I currently have a Maschine, midi keyboard, and a Slim Phatty. I will be buying more hardware synths in the future. How will I connect them all at the same time when the midi in/out ports will already be occupied by my current gear?
    ---
And oh yeah..... GIVE US MASCHINE OWNERS A DISCOUNT ON KA6! We are loyal custys, right timbonaut?
    ---
Also, one more question.. in a old thread I just searched for some info on KA6, saintjoe said something about not being able to 'playback loop' or something. I couldn't find any info on what that means so.. what does that mean? And also that KA6 lacks additional 'routing'. What does that mean?

I'm hoping to get my questions answered unbiasedly with good results because I really like the look and size of this thing. From what I hear it has good low latency and sounds really good. Which also reminds me of another fault that I've read. I recall reading that the headphone amps don't go as loud as most desire, that they need to be turned up quite a bit to get to a good level.

Lol I'm just bombing this thread away with questions, I really want to buy it though that's why!

Relax, Maschine and Komplete 8 owners get the discount. I guess you never read to the bottom of the product page.

"If you already own KOMPLETE 8 ULTIMATE, KOMPLETE 8, MASCHINE, or MASCHINE MIKRO, you also qualify for special pricing on KOMPLETE AUDIO 6."

There's an email going round too. I went to the shop, logged in, and put the discounted Audio6 straight into my shopping cart.

    Here's the newsletter link:

Bought mine last summer and absolutely love it. I've used it for a load of voice work and have even done some on-site recordings using it (though I do use an additional mixer with it, but I'm kind of anal about that sort of thing).

Get it - you'll dig it, too, regardless of any discount.

I did NOT enjoy the AK1, so that being said I will stick with the Saffire Pro 14 firewire..I had a few bad experiences with AK1 as far as recording vocals. I know the KA6 suppose to be better but I have still seen post with problems on the forum.

Jeez, I've would've liked to have gotten the KA6 if this promo would've been out 2 months earlier. Instead I opted for a Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, nice sound and routing options (once I got the hang of it) the down side is that it's not bus powered. Granted I do my thing at home anyways, the option of portability would've been nice. Oh well, this and no free Maschine paks for me I suppose.

Considering it's a real budget interface and doesn't come close to quality of something like an Apogee Duet, I'm just bummed there isn't anything else they could offer the same discount on.

The Duet costs almost $600 for 2 in 2 out. It's by far the most expensive product in this class. And the NI interfaces use very high quality Cirrus Logic converters, so...what are you talking about?

Just the usual chest-thumping because something cost a mint - nothing more.

Ah, every car that isn't a Bentley is a budget sedan, any watch that isn't a Rolex is a budget timepiece, that sort of thing? Okay.

For anyone who reads this thread and prefers informed decisions over conspicuous consumption, this is a pretty good deal. A Focusrite Saffire 14 can be had brand new for a little less, and offers a bit more in the way of connectivity (more ins/outs, and on my Macbook it's nice that it plugs into the firewire port I wouldn't otherwise be using rather than tying up a precious USB port), although the physical interface controls on the KA 6 are probably a little better thought out.

If you were looking for something at about the $200 mark (especially if you don't need a bunch of inputs, or very specifically need 4 outputs) this is a nice deal on a nice audio/MIDI interface.

If you actually need a "budget" option, there's a bunch of stuff available between $50-100, especially if you're willing to buy used. But do your homework, because many of them are terrible.

If anyone you know bought a Behringer product recently, it probably came with a chintzy little USB audio interface, they'll probably just give it to you. I think they sell for about $30 at retail.
