I've been saying this since I started using Maschine, I want a keyboard for total integration with my NI stuffs :)

Not necessarily a "Maschine keyboard" but something to integrate with and control all of their instruments would be dope.

As with anything, it won't be for everyone, won't be required, but would be an option for those that want it. I like the level of integration NI provides with their hardware/software so I would have no hesitation in picking up something like that personally.

When I was thinking about NI's next step a keyboard didn't cross my mind. Something doesn't quite sit right with that for me to be honest. BUT, like others, I did envisage an add on controller full of knobs/faders that could be almost like a link between Maschine and those who use keyboards (quite a few of us).

Automap has been a bit hit and miss for Novation but imagine a controller developped in house by NI that fully mapped to all of NI's vst's and would at least attempt a similar automap function. Attempt is the wrong word as being in house they could ensure everything mapped to all of their Komplete instruments. It could be, say, about half the size of a full Maschine, same sized display at top and x encouders (touch responsive so you can see what you are going to control without nudging it). Would be easy to browse through patches, banks of controls, etc etc. Or, being a little more outrageous and probably cost prohibitive you could have a bank of encoders with each set below small, simple displays so that you maintain the eyes on hardware approach Maschine is all about and know exactly what you are reaching for. Maschine does do a lot of this already to be fair but extra encoders/faders would free things up very nicely.

I get why those of a DJ slant want something along Traktor add on lines and I do think NI will cater for that with some sort of greater Traktor integration but I dont see the need for a dedicated "Traktor for Maschine" controller myself.

At the end of the day, I suspect 2.0 will be all about software. Multicore, Traktor integration, a few more bells and whistles will all be very welcome additions. I'd love for Maschine to build in some more major features, perhaps even a switchable view like Ableton has (perhaps this could be activated via an add on!), and better handling of midi and live audio inputs too.

One thing is for certain - it's a great platform to work with and there is a whole raft of options to develop Maschine further.

Yeah I'm not specifically looking for something like that to be the next naschine, just saying with komplete and how well they did machine integration with its controller I would love a dedicated controller with keys and such for komplete that also worked with maschine. However u wouldn't expect maschine itself to become that device.

They sure as H E double hockey sticks better do more than add a few bells and whistles for a 2.0 release, they better add all the bells and whistles they got, they better catch the fudge up ! I put that on my mamas pancakes and that whack imaschine app!

After watching the new maschine video featuring some urban producers. How much you wanna bet that many urban producers who have a big name and use maschine, as an mpc replacement somewhat, will have some sort of influence for where maschine goes in the future?

leaving the musical taste aside - if these guys use maschine 'as an mpc replacement somewhat' - then maybe NI will get a push to complete the sampler feature set & stop adding yet more 'shift + button' stuff

to my knowledge all the producers in the vid are active working producers with mainstream placements.

the closests to an old producer is ski beats who did beats for jay-z in 96, and camp lo's first album but dude is still relavent and evolving styles and sounds
