    I think something is coming.

Hard to say what it is.

I think it will be iMaschine HD for the iPad.

"Have you ever, ever felt like this,
When strange things happen, Are you going round the twist?..."

That will be completely lost on anyone outside of roughly a 25-33 year old bracket who didnt grow up watching BBC kids programs after school.

It HAS to be the release of the
    "MASCHINE V2.0 DAW Z2 & KEYBOARD UNIT"

I've heard rumours that you type in the mood that you are currently in and it makes the music for you! It's THAT advanced!

Everything the update moaners have ever moaned about and wanted!

You can also buy the JeremyEllis TechGlove™ that gives you instant Ellis finger skills.

i think peeps want the ni dev team to only develop in the direction that fits their needs and fave genre.

some of the feature peeps want are just token feature just so folks can have the smug superior vibe.

but end of the day lotta the **** peeps want aint required to make a beat, of all the equipment ive had i have neva used every single functional capability of the unit.

I just take the most convenient and make sure the key functions i use to make beats are quickly accessible as they are in maschine.

im happy even if the mk2 was somehow not support but future updates but we all know ni will make sure all the controllers still support post 2.0 functions.

    Maschine 2.0 the big picture

what do we know, the speculation is cool, we have all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas, and specific wants for which direction the platform should go.

but lets look at what is known and look at what NI have been doing and construct a picture based on the current market trends and actual realities of whats happening.

not to beat a dead horse but it is a topic that arises much passion cos maschine is such a great package. so lets kick it off with quotes from the last q&a:

Are there plans for a new Maschine hardware controller in the future?

We are of course always looking into ideas for developing the Maschine hardware. However, it’s important to note that current compatibility with the existing controllers will always remain an important focus for us.

    I've got a question:

Are there any plans on Developing Maschine into a full DAW like Cubase?
So far, the sequencer options are rather limited, will this be improved?

We are working on taking Maschine's sequencing capabilities to the next level. At the same time, we don't want to compromise Maschine's creative immediacy. Therefore, any new features will be implemented to seamlessly fit in with the groove production-oriented workflow of Maschine.

Does NI see Maschine growing in the future to include the things that would truely make it a great stand alone beat machine such as tempo mapping, master automation lanes, vocal tracks etc? Many of maschine users Use maschine almost exclusively as a stand alone product until tracking vocals and finishing songs especially for live use and this is needed for us!

We are planning to expand Maschine in several significant ways in the future, but we have to play our cards close to our chest in this regard, so we can't confirm or deny anything along those lines at this point

Are there plans of integrating Traktor with Maschine for production purposes and mixtape purposes?

Traktor and Maschine are in the process of moving closer together, but we are not yet at a point to disclose details about the "when" and "how".

IMHO.... all that doesn't mean much because company's change their minds or just flat out lie to their customers all the time.

Also.... a lot of Native Instrument decisions we be made in response to what their competition is doing and the success or failure their competition is having with their products.

So... you can't really just go off of what NI said a year ago... things change.

We'll just have to wait and see.....

ok but not that much for instance if they say they will ensure that new updates are still accessible from the original controller than i dont see any reason why that policy would change.

besides it make much more sense to build a view of maschine based on insider info as opposed to just pulling things out of mid air.

i just hope the update intergrates some of the new drag and drop features battery 4 has like the sidechain options and the stacking of drums ect... i think if they make a maschine/daw with these quick options (drag and drop) it would make it a game changer for daws becuz it would make any novice into a a pretty good engineer. everything will be so less complicated. and the workflow so simple!

o yea please add record track mutes to tracks

I think the update will include a function to enable us to train pelicans to make sandwiches..... Just speculating whilst still peering round the corner of nothingness..... It's an empty void this corner with nothing at all around it.....

Track Mute Recording and a Timer/Clock really need to be in the 2.0 update.

C'mon NI... it's 2013 and Maschine has been out for years... and it still doesn't have a "Clock"?

I guess a lot of this comes down to...

1.How close should Maschine come to being a DAW?

2.What features should be left off of Mascines software and be handled by a real DAW?
