Try running Maschine as administrator- not just with UAC turned off. Can you open it now?

Also, use something like CCleaner to dump your temp files.

how do you run maschine as administrator.
my win vista pc has only 1 profile and thats an administrator account already
    ---
i downloaded ccleaner and cleaned about everything there was to clean on my pc.
I just figured out how to run maschine as administrator ass well.
I enabled my administrator account via --> my computer/manage/etc..
i then logged out and logged in to the administrator account.
i then started maschine and try to open the file but still no luck.

Then you should be good there.

My guess is that Maschine's trying to open a corrupt project; when an app crashes, it leaves behind temp files that are normally cleaned up. When you try to open the project that crashed, Maschine will see the temp files and try to use those instead of the saved version.

    CCleaner is your friend here:

i tried ccleaner in many different ways.. i used it while in administrator account and in my normal account.
i booted the pc several times during all of this. i even used different kinds of appz by norton systemworks etc.. just to see if there were any additional errors but still no luck. Also used windows "stupid" system restore but nothing works. still i think your theory is right but is there also a possibility that the project file in question was just corrupted during the crash, and that theres no way to fix it. because thats the only file i have the problem with, and is ofcourse the one that was open at the time of the crash.

im still eager to get this file to work so in the future i will know how to handle these kinds of problems. and ofcourse i hate it to be bashed by my pc like this!

    hope you have anymore ideas

another latenight sidenote.. i emailed the project file that wasn't working anymore to a friend. He owns maschine as well. same version, os, everything. still the same issue. When he tries to open the file he gets the same error message as i do.

so i think this is gonna be a dissapointing night after all..
maybe an issue that can be fixed by NI in the future, cuz its really harsh that a pc crash can cause this. never seen anything like it.

like to hear your finale thoughts on this one,

    good night

well same problem here, but my pc dit not chrash or anything
i looked up the project file and its 0kb's. so the file is corrupt.

had a pretty cool production,... but now its gone.

its just the hard way to learn,.. every time you save give it a different name, as kind of back-up
