Maschine Project files from Maschine 1.1 standalone 64bit
won't load with Maschine VST 32bit in Ableton Live 8.04

I had this problem happen in VISTA 64 SP2

I tried opening a project file of Maschine that was saved under maschine 1.1 standalone (under VISTA 64 bit OS)
and it does NOT load with the Maschine VST(32bit) in Ableton Live 8.04

I get an error message saying:

    "Error loading project file"
"The file is not a project file"

There are project files that i can load:

Maschine Projects that were saved with Maschine 1.03* Standalone under XP 32 bit
LOAD perfectly with the Maschine 1.1 VST (32bit) under VISTA 64 BIT OS
(with Ableton Live 8.04 32bit as DAW.)

    * I'm refferring to Maschine Project files that are NOT YET converted to Maschine 1.1 but are still a Maschine 1.03 Project file.

    Anyone know this problem?

Is there cross compatibility between projects done in 64 bit OS in standalone version of Maschine and 32bit DAW with 32 bit VST version of Maschine ?

I have been able to make music using Maschine VST inside Ableton Live 8.04 for quite sometime now. (With the occasional crash of Live due to Maschine VST - no other plugin has ever crashed Live as it works rocksolid under Vista 64 - even if ableton doesn't officially support it )

So, appart from the crashes, i could make good progress with the Live – Maschine combo.
    But know i'm stuck.

    Heeeelp

    Problem SOLVED

I found out what the problem was.

    Here is what happened.

I did the update to Maschine 1.1 on my VISTA 64 PC.
But the Maschine 1.03 VST stayed in my plugin folder
and was not updated to Maschine 1.1

Without knowing it, i tried to open a 1.1 project file with Maschine 1.03 VST.
    This can never work.

I deleted the 1.03 dll in my plugin folder and replaced them by Maschine 1.1 dll .

    Problem solved,

    let the music flow.

    Cheers:D :D :D :D :D

    ?

Check the version number of the plugin. If it doesn't match the standalone version's number, reinstall.

Like ew said, you need to first check what version your plugin has.

    then

If you installed Maschine 1.1 , but your plugin version is still 1.03 (for example ) ,

chances are that the new plugin version is there somewhere on your hard drive.

Check in standard native instruments / maschine install folder for the new version.
( i guess it must be similar on a mac, i'm on a PC, can someone step in to correct me if i'm wrong )

This probably happens because during install a new plugin folder was made which contains the 1.1 version. It did not replace the old version where your DAW scans
    for plugins.

When you find the new plugin, delete the old and put the new in your plugin folder ( where you store all the plugins for your DAW )

    Cheers and good luck !

Ah- actually, with a Mac the chances are it isn't there if he's getting that prompt. There's only limited places for plugins to be on a Mac, and most if not all Mac hosts check them all.

I'd reinstall everything. Do a manual uninstall as explained here:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/k...lling+NATIVE+INSTRUMENTS+Software+in+Mac+OS+X

Then, reinstall from the DVD and update to 1.1
