Maschine Studio buyers... did you want a Audio Interface on the controller?

Personally I would rather an interface on one of the smaller controllers. NOT the studio controller. Reason is. I have nice audio interfaces already in my studio but when I travel or gig, I am not going to bring my studio controller. But rather my mk2. In that regard a small 2x4 interface would be great. As would save space in my gig bag. But then I would also run into issues of added bulk then. So really I would only want it if it could be kept slim or the same size (which would require a new design for sure).

This is actually a good point. I think I would prefer this too as the Studio IS rather large for carrying around. How about an MKII+?

You guys are making a big deal about a very little chip and a decent one at that. If you didn't use it, you wouldn't even know it was there. Obviously some of us might wanna go mobile with this thing(Maschine Studio). It's not like it's a Giant piece of gear and it sounds like it's about the same size of an S4. So, just because it's labeled "Studio" doesn't mean it needs to stay there. A built in Sound Card will allow one to use it at Mobile events or away from the studio without depending on the Laptop's sound card. Even better if it can be used with Traktor Pro and the studio having a template made for Traktor Pro. You are then able to use the studio for Studio production and DJ Performance and yes, anything with this many knobs and a jog wheel, you can easily DJ with. In the studio, as with most other controllers with a sound card, you are not bound to use it. All you need to do is simply select the appropriate interface in your system settings and go for it. Think about it...If I'm only writing beats, which is 90% of what this thing does, why always be tied to another box? Maybe someone wants to use the studio to record while you bang out some beats for the next session. GUESS WHAT? If you don't have another sound card...you can't and laptop soundcards can get funky at times.

So here is my question? "If" Maschine Studio had a bulit in sound card, would we be able to route other DAW's through it like Ableton Live or Logic Pro X? Or would it be strictly dedicated to Maschine Studio?

Then it makes more sense for you to buy a soundcard to suit your specific need (2, 4 or 8 outs? Mic input? Instrument inputs? Digital outputs? Turntable pre-amps?), than have everyone buy a soundcard that in all likelihood doesn't suit them.

I agree. There are just too many variables to consider for personal needs of a sound card. Not something that can be a one size fits all. Prob less than 25% would want whatever I/O, low latency performance, and converter quality it provided.

I think the all in one is a good idea and could be useful, just what are the chances the card would suit most that want a studio?

I do agree with djtorchmusic about the size and portability. To me, the Studio is just as easy to tote to gigs etc. as the MK2. There is no issue here. I think the Studio is actually more suited for stage use than the others. idk, I'm used to seeing keyboardist, sax players, guitarist, Dj's with the SP1200's manage just fine over all these years getting their instruments setup for gigs. The studio aint nothing compared to that and is light as all hell. I really don't get it. Why are people pigeonholing the studio like it's going to explode or something if you take it outside?

im with you on that. i don't have the best setup right now so i always have to go in and change my audio settings when sampling from my turntable. obviously its up to me to get a better setup but if the studio had an audio interface it would have made it that much easier for me and an automatic buy

Really though, in the future I think they should make one with a soundcard for those who would want it. There does not need to be just one version.

I'd just buy a Traktor 2 or similar interface for travel, i have a vrm box i use with my laptop and it doesn't take any room.

+1 here. It may be because of the way it's being marketed why people think that way.

I'm pretty close to going for it and if I do buy..I mean invest in a Studio, you can best believe it's going with me, if I have to be away from my studio for a while.

I do understand some may see a built-in sound card as not optimum, but Laptop soundcard "just won't do" and I don't wanna drag my 3000.00 audio interface where ever I go, just for making beats. The one they put in the Z2 or the S4 would be fine and it wouldn't cost them that much at all. Good headphone volume and enough detail to get the job done. Maybe fokes think it might add size but some sound card are about the size of a quarter and many no later than a credit card.

You mean a Traktor Audio 2? Think about it like this. Now you gotta carry that, hook it up, get your wires, etc when you could just plugin your headphone into the back of the Maschine Studio and be done with it. Which one sounds more elegant to you?

Integrate their Komplete Audio or something, I don't know. Would definitely be more appealing. And how much harder would it be to put one in there? Must be enough space.

LOL:D!! It's not that BIG!!! It's the size of an S4 dude! You got me crackin' up over here!!! Y'all make it sound it like this thing is as big as a Studer tape machine!!! DJs haul around controller (S4, DDJ-SX, NS6) all the time! This thing is barely that big and is probably lighter. Imma buy a nice case for mine and it's going WITH ME....lol :))

Nah. It would cost about $1,300 like the MPC Renaissance did when it came out.
$999 is less than I had originally expected the Studio to cost, even without an audio interface built in.

I think you're exaggerating a little bit. By the time you're carrying a bulky Maschine Studio around, you're no longer "traveling light". ;)
If you're using headphones, you need only to pack the tiny audio interface and an additional USB cable. Both of those will fit together in a single pocket on my pants. That's not much to ask.

I believe your overestimating the size of this thing. If you think it's going to be some huge, heavy and bulky piece of kit. You're going to be disappointed. Its' a little bit bigger than a 17" gaming laptop. That's it.
