EDIT: Looks like my location paths were just setup incorrectly in Maschine vs. the install paths in Native Access.

But, thank everyone for the replies! The free Kontakt sounds will still definitely come in handy.

You could cross grade to komplete 11 or try the new sounds.com site with a free account. But what ecactly are you missing? The package that comes with maschine is not bad for beginning and even more.

It's also worth to look for free Kontakt libarys

Personally I think Maschine comes with plenty of sounds. It has a multi GB library comes with Massive and Monark Has a built in Bass synth and Drums Synth etc. However if you feel you really need more sounds there are plenty of expansions that NI releases for Maschine. They are usually in the price range of 50 bucks to purchase.

The Maschine library covers a huge range of sounds from organs, to keys, to basses and orchestral strings. I suggest you look through the library it's actually pretty damn good.

There are hundreds of good 3rd party stuff out there:
    • Free Kontakt instruments everywhere on the web. https://cymatics.fm/blog/best-kontakt-libraries/ scroll down to "Best Free Kontakt Libraries" section, thas a huge list on a single website.
    • Cheap preset packs for the synths that come with Maschine, don't underestimate them, there's quality stuff there.
    • Free Reaktor ensembles on the official User Library (I think Reaktor player can be used right?)
Get Komplete if you can afford it, if you cant then don't think that you are somehow limited creatively and would make much better Music if you did... Komplete is huge and takes quite a while to master each instrument.

All ok except reaktor - you can't use the free instruments with reaktor player only commercial ones

Maybe my package is just broken? A lot of the sounds I can't use--I can hear the preview but when I try to load them it says "XXX could not be loaded.".. like "Massive could not be loaded.".. "Drum lab could not be loaded.".. etc.

I assumed this meant I needed to purchase them to unlock them. The only bank I actually have access to is "Maschine" and it's not even a total of 100 sounds.

^ I just figured it out.. Native Access let me pick my own folder locations for downloading/installing things, but it doesn't actually relay that information to the Maschine software to read. All I had to do was set up my locations in the Maschine preferences to match. :(

    No.
That messages indicates that you havent installed Komplete Select that comes free with maschine software.
    https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/bundles/komplete-11-select/

Did you install Maschine Factory Library (5-6 GB)?

I did, but (edited the post above) it looks like my issue was that the paths in Native Access that I set up weren't automatically passed to the Maschine software.. so all I had to do was set them up there too. LOL.

I appreciate you taking the time to help!
