    For me, nothing really compares because Maschine really is a hybrid that takes the most useful parts of the MPC, ESX and Live's session view into an instrument with its own character.

    And Maschine's pads are far more versatile than MPC pads as far as sensitivity and responsiveness. MPC pads for me are unusable for playing melodic parts. All they're good for are percussive and one-shot triggering.

    yeah although this may be a nu-akia trait as i recall a friend had an mpc2000xl se2 and the pads r flyer then my 1000

    Yeah I've had both. The 2k pads are softer than the 1k but they still have the same characteristics of MPC pads.
