Maschine+ will be great if...

Indeed ! But, even you can set Program Change for a step from the Maschine+ (After going to Maschine Software, create a 'sound' with Program Change / MSB / LSB macro... that is cumbersome...), the Program Change automation send quickly 2 values on step 1... : "0" and then the Program Change you set. As result your gear jump from preset "0" to the one chosen each time on the first step of your pattern, and your first pattern is dead... Because your gear is busy to change preset instead of playing the first note, and cut the last note sound...
It is clearly a bad implementation of Program Change.
I notice also that with macro MSB and LSB, they are not sent if you didn't change the Program Change macro after... WTF... so each time you have to change a preset within the same bank, you have first to change the LSB, then change the bank, and then go back to the bank you where... WTF ?
I don't know if NI really tested this functionality (clearly not) but all musician with HW gear (even beginners) will say : "WTF ?"

On my side, I am sure NI haven't taking care about Program Change things, because they know exactly what implies to work with Program Changes with hardware synths, so they intentionally didn't care about this feature. They put "4Go of RAM, a quad-core processor, etc." but simple thing that didn't need Go of Ram are bad implemented... WTF?

 

yeah...I didnt succeed to manage PC/MSB/LSB messages with macros either...
regarding the "order" of the messages, what you describe seems normal actually.
Your synths need to receive the "bank" messages BEFORE the "program" message.

 

I know, but they could manage as the MPC and other groovebox/midi sequencer do since twenty years : resend the same Program Change when you change MSB or LSB. As written : it is a feature that don't need 4Go of Ram or a quad-core processor...

 

I meant, the MPC have a special section for PC/MSB/LSB (already before the One/Live/X serie) such kind of thing is not implemented on Maschine+. Even, sending to the M+ PC/MSB/LSB it isn't handle in a way that no "jump" between 2 set of PC/MSB/LSB occurs.
It is a shame that a basic function like this is not implemented. Even Maschine Software deal with PC/MSB/LSB on a better way (to be improved). At least it is expected that M+ will act like Maschine Software. And, I am sure, it is not outside the technicity of NI developers to implement this.

 

if they add the "automation editing" feature, it should do the job..
but indeed, the best solution would be a dedicated section for PC/MSB/LSB (like on MPC, Squarp Pyramid etc.)
hope that will be part of the NI top priorities for future updates
