I have a MacBook pro (2.3GHz 2GB Ram) running 10.6. I am using first generation Maschine.

I have recently reinstalled the operating system, and had to reinstall the Maschine software. Prior to reinstalling my Maschine was working fine.

Right now though I can't get it to work. I plug it in, it flashes, and then nothing. It's not a fault with the hardware because if I plug it into an iMac it allows me to use it in "midi mode". The iMac doesn't even have any music software installed on it yet it still powers up.

It's not an issue with the USB ports because as I said it worked fine before I reinstalled the operating system.

I can't figure out what's going on. I've been through all the threads from people having similar issues, nothing works.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thank you.

Edit: My Mac is recognizing the maschine because in the system profile information it says:

    Product ID: 0x0808
    Vendor ID: 0x17cc
    Version: 0.0d
    Serial Number: SN-mbecrytw

    Manufacturer: Native Instruments
    Location ID: 0x26200000
    Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)

Was the Maschine plugged in when you installed it?
