    Buyer Beware!

I downloaded TouchOSC(Same company) to my ipad a few years ago. I ran into the SAME problem. You had to buy some other third party software programs to get it to run. It was a complete waist of money Then I went to their site to get help from forums or support and quite literally nobody was there!

BUYER BEWARE is all I say. They try to get you with the slick video.

TouchOsc is a completely different company than Retouch Control. You need to buy touchosc to run Retouch for Reason/Ipad.

i am interested in this alot. not a Reason user but considering it more and more. one of the main reasons being kong. no pun.

can any beta tester chime in with more details:

how well is the integration and workflow?
    lots of mousing about?
    any other downsides?
what is the gripe with sequencing on r6?

    cheers,

this is not the same company as TouchOSC. And there is no iPad involved here anyway. I think you are confusing things....

    @Ursa Minor
if you are a Reason user, I think this is a great solution for that hands-on approach at beat making that Maschine gives. I have it and I like it. The installation might be a bit of work (for some), but you can check the video here to see what's involved and make up your mind -> http://www.retouchcontrol.com/site_page.aspx?pageid=35. To me it's well worth it.

With the new Rack extensions seems like you have the perfect controller ready to go in maschine. But what is it like working with the sequencer?

Apologies. Thanks for the correction. According this thread. As long as you install it correctly with a few plugins your good to go. I will have to give another look.

really interested to see how this develops

just started messing around with Reason 6 demo
and I really like what they've done since last I was familiar with Reason 3or4
    The alligator is sick
and the regroove mixer seems more intuitive and controllable that Live's Groove pool

My RME interface has foldback and it would be nice to be able to sample from Reason into Maschine with both apps ruining in 64bit

I beginning to wonder if REAPER/REASON/Maschine VST might be the way to go
    for routing and 64bit

    but anyways gonna try it

I would simply prefer rewire + Reason 6(x64) and Maschine (x64) to run with Maschine as the host sequnceer with Reason as the slave to use as a rack->mixer using the output as a stereo bus.

I read your post about having having problems with installing the MaschineR application. I have purchased the app myself over 6 months ago and have had several issues. if possible, could you please explain how you installed the program on your computer. It seems that I have the same problem as yours. Thank you for your time.

    Hi

Its not that there are problems, it all should work fine. Its just when I installed it, it took quite an effort & a fair bit of time for my likeing. The Retouch website now has a Video Tutorial of the entire installation process which they did not have up when I bought it. Go have a look I'm sure it will solve your problems.

Here is the link to the video.

Good Luck. Post back how it goes.

Thanks for getting back with me. Seems the problem was the MIDI Yoke. Re installed and now everything SEEMS to work fine. The controls are allot different the Maschine itself but Im working out the kinks. Ive always loved Reason and its ability to shape sounds. Im glad I finally got MaschineR to work. I was seriously considering buying a AKAI MPD32 just so I could hit pads. But MaschineR changed all of that.

Just curious if when using MaschineR is maschine in control mode(ex. like when using it as a midi controller for say ableton's drum racks)? I presume it would have to be but I haven't been able to find and definitive answer, if so would it then be possible to run maschine as a vst inside of ableton and rewire reason at the same time and be able to switch back and forth from controlling maschine as it was designed and controlling reason the way MaschineR has been implemented just by pressing the "control" button on maschine? Hope that makes sense. I've really streamlined my work flow to running Ableton as my main DAW/Maschine host and Reason essentially being used as a rack through rewire and I absolutely love working like this. However, i'm debating picking up a Nektar Panorama to have more hands on control of reason or an iPad running ReTouch(same people who developed MaschineR) but either of those would cost me close to $600 so if I could get away with using maschine to control reasons parameters more intuitively it would save me a decent bit of cash as I already own maschine. Sorry for the short novel of a post, i've just been wondering about this for quite a while now and feel like I need to make a decision very soon.

    Thanks for any info!

MaschineR is quite hazzle setting up. And frankly I didn't succeed.
Tried with both CopperLan and LoopBe30 as I suspected those were the issues.

I'd stay away from this and save the money instead. Wish I had.

You must be doing something wrong. I am using it on both Win and Mac and works like a charm. Did you follow the video installation instructions on their site?

Yes, you can. That's precisely how I use it, most of the time....
