I am having the issue of using massive via midi through maschine (yes I understand standalone maschine does not support VSTs). Under my current set up of asio4all all native instrument software requires being the only program open at one time to send audio output. Is it possible for me to use massive with maschine via midi under these circumstances? If yes how would I do this? Is there a way to save massive files in a format maschine can then load as an instrument or sample?

Many questions yes I know, but I would appreciate any help I can get. Perhaps ew can come to my rescue again?

Thanks for your help in advance

The ASIO4All driver isn't multiclient- only one app can use the driver at any time.

Do you have any suggestions on multiclient drivers? And thank you for the response ew.

Thank you, it works great for using multiclient but I am still having a tough time figuring out how to run massive sounds into the maschine standalone software via midi. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

are you getting mixed up with MIDI and Audio?

on a PC you need to use something like MIDI Yoke to send MIDI from one Application to another.to clarify, you need to send MIDI from Maschine to Massive and Audio from Massive to Maschine.

Basically I am just trying to play sounds from massive through maschine standalone software. I appreciate people being patient because I'm trying hard to figure this out but its just not coming to me. I downloaded MIDI OX in an attempt to send audio from massive to maschine, but I am still trying to figure out the ropes of transfering

I have my pad and sound set as midi out on the maschine software as channel 1, with the status enabled in the sound midi settings window. What I am failing to do is recieve that information via massive and then send the audio back. I cannot find where to set massive to recieve midi from maschine

    so my next question is:

    have you downloaded MIDI Yoke?

you will need this to send MIDI from Maschine to Massive.

i own a Mac, so i can't help you set up MIDI Yoke in this situation.

if people have a Mac, i can help.

Midi yoke did not work correctly with my version of windows vista, but LoopBe sure did. I am very amazed at how easy that really was. Thanks for the help sowari!

okay, so if the MIDI Side of it is working then you need to get the Audio sorted:

again i can't help you with this because i use a Mac.

Edit maybe Jack Audio is something for you to try:

I guess I didn't quite clarify. Audio is coming through maschine software, but unfortunately it is not coming up as a source I can sample. Is there a way to record the audio coming back through the maschine software?

    sorry, i don't understand this?

if you are getting Audio from Massive going into Maschine why can't you sample it?

He can hear Massive play because its playing alongside any other sound using the ASIO drivers. What he needs is a way to route system level sounds (I don't believe there's an option to hijack individual program's output to a source or to disc the way there is on the Mac). You can use the trick of routing your physical outputs on your computer into your physical inputs, just remember, you won't be hearing anything while its doing this, and if you have input monitoring turned on, you will get an never ending feedback loop.

There are a couple audio interfaces on the market that allow you to internally reroute an audio out to an audio in, in software. This would be one solution if you find yourself doing this all the time. The second option is to find a cheap sequencing program where you can load up both Massive and Maschine, and simply route the audio thru your sequencer's many virtual in's and out's.

I'm no PC expert either, and I know many of the introductory versions of sequencing programs have the recording feature disabled, so you will probably have to poke around a bit to find what you need.

If you use Maschine to send MIDI clock out, I think you might be able to record Massive's output thru hosting it as a plugin in Audacity, actually, so perhaps try that.

    thanks ;)

also suggested Jack Audio - and gave a link - in a recent Post. Jack Audio works on a PC and can be used to route Audio from one Application to another.
