This had not happened in earlier updates, but on the latest one (1.5.8) it replaced my custom Newsound.nmsv, which I, not realizing that this was a thing that could happen, had not backed up anywhere else. I am guessing that there's no method to get it back, or is there?

I ended up recreating my custom init patch from a recently made preset, so I'm all good. I also wrote a long twitter thread about what I changed vis-a-vis the factory preset, and why:

At the end, there's a link to my init patch (not just for anyone who reads that thread and goes, yeah, makes sense, but also for me in case the next update overwrites it again and my backup fails ;))

I would love it if NI fixed the glide rate mode bug, by the way! My experience with the init patch showed me that when you save a preset, the correct setting is saved in it, but when you load it, it is not applied. But apparently the New Sound load routine is different, because in that the setting IS applied! Maybe that information will make it easier for NI to fix this long-standing bug.

    Hi wayfinder,
the issue that the Newsound.nmsv file could get overwritten when installing an update to Massive is unfortunate, but the file is located in the installation directory of Massive and not in a user directory. So always make sure to keep a backup in a directory that is not affected by installing/uninstalling/updating.

As for the "glide rate mode bug", let me talk to the development team to see what we can do about that :)

    Cheers,
    Eddie

Good news, it looks like that bug will be fixed with the next update :D

That is awesome! Do you perhaps have some sort of super power? Can I interest you in mentioning another long-standing bug (preset files with Device Type set to 0 don't appear when searching by bank name in the browser)?

Or maybe the wrong browser focus when opening the GUI for the first time in a new session?:rolleyes:

    I just work here ;):D
No promises about the other two bugs, but I can maybe do some digging tomorrow to gather a little info on these issue to evaluate how feasible a bugfix would be.
