Hello folks, I use Logic Express along with Reaktor to make music. I am working on a project involving the original Massive ensemble. I notice that when using Massive in plug-in mode inside Logic, that Massive will play fine, but there will be a short pause in the rhythm at various intervals.

I've included an audio example you can listen to here:

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/lnlcr2

Any idea how I can fix this?

    thx

somehow the pauses sounded as though they were prgrammed, (like the hi hat dropping out).

do the drop-outs occur when the loop repeats?

anyway, maybe increase the Audio buffer size in Logic?

No, it's definitely not programmed intentionally like that...in standalone mode this does not happen. This occurs if I have it in cycle mode or not.

Regarding increasing the buffer....it's already at the max setting.

what settings (sampling, bit rate) are you using with the Motu?

could you try using the Mac in built Audio card, and report back.

please clarify your buffer size in Logic, what is it?

btw, have you set your energy Saver Settings (System Preferences) to highest performance?

yes, energy saving settings are at "highest."

buffer size in logic is 1024.

sampling/bit rate is 44.1 in motu.

I get the same effect using the motu or the built-in audio card.

hmm...ok, what happens with the new version (Massive 1.1)?

and your audio example, is that 1 snapshot pattern or a pattern with changes of snapshot.

surprisingly, this phenomenon does NOT happen with the old Massive 1.1 groovebox(not to be confused with Massive 1.1 the synth. huh?). Too bad you can't just move snapshots between the two ensembles.

the example I gave was one pattern within a snapshot...but the entire snapshot does the same thing in unison.

i think you will have to have a work around. record your Loops in Reaktor standalone (with the recorder box) and then import them as audio files into Logic.

but yes, it would be nice if this and its other problems were fixed.

I have the exact same problem when using the Massive 1.1 Groovebox as a plugin in Live 6. Works fine in the standalone.

It was working fine before, and has now suddenly started doing this. I'm trying to see if there was something I changed between yesterday and today.

    Win XP x64

for me both (Reaktor) Massive's seem to work ok in Live 4 and 5... but in Live 6, they just don't reset.

I agree....this never used to happen and now it does. Very strange. Of course, if a tree falls in the forest....what if it falls in the desert? Does it even exist? Does anyone even care about this ensemble anymore? They've already named another product after it. It's one of the all-time best Reaktor ensembles, but it's also one of the all-time most obtuse. Compounding this is the fact that no one who really knows the guts of the thing is around to assist.

yeah, it's really cool. I can't figure out what I changed (if I changed anything) that made this problem show up.

Massive for Reaktor is an awesome ensemble; I love it. And it's totally different from Non-Reaktor Massive, so I hope they continue to improve it in the next update of Reaktor.
