Massive X and SUper 8 (both VST3) don´t show GUI 100%

See the photo. It´s explain everything. Anyone with the same problem?

 

You can click the plus sign, on top middle, or go to the drop-down menu, view and select edit or additional view, or something like that. This view on your pics is just a performance view, also useful in some cases.

I´m a Pro User and I know what you are sugesting me. Thank you but it´s not the case. NI started a support about that with me, but after 2 months, they closed my request whitout the correction.

Hi Alexandre, to help understand the issue, what version of Windows are you using? Also, for Massive X, have you tried changing the View Size in the dropdown menu (click on the MASSIVE X logo in the top left)?

- Windows 10 completely updated. I update all the time. I have one Microsoft Surface Studio i7 32Gb Ram, with 4000x3000 screen that I use with 200% Scaole. And yes, I tried different Scales also.
- Only to note, the Super 8 had the same problem for more than 6 months.
- About Massive X, yes, I tried all sizes and all Themes also.

I saw another post about this problem, But the user didn´t updated.

On my system, also latest win 10, everything works as expected, it shows with both vst3 versions the whole gui and not a cutted version. But i just use full hd monitors.

To me it looks like the outer gui has a different scale then the inner gui, it shows just a quarter of both vst3 plugins - so that's consistent to 200 percent difference on both axles (x,y)

I have two monitors here and I tested on some percentages. The problem presist here. I believe that it´s related with GUI and % for sure.

 

Thanks to everyone for the information here, it's very helpful. We are actively looking at improving HiDPI support on Windows for our products. Although I can't promise any release dates for solving these problems, rest assured we are aware and working on it.

Daniel, do you work ar NI? I already oppend a ticked for this problem again. NI was working on that on January and sttoped for no reason.

Alexandre, yes, I do work at NI. Please note that we have spent a large amount of this year working on compatibility updates, which is focused on VST3 and Apple Silicon support. So, yes we are aware of the scaling issues in Ableton Live and although they are related, different hosts deal with scaling differently.

As a workaround, have you tried using 100% scaling in Windows?

 

Hi Daniel. I understand the bug work. I was a programmer in the past. What bothers me is that I was working with "Chris" from NI since Super 8 VST3 release and on some point he disappeared.

Ok, let´s restart from here. I tried all scale and GUI possibilities as I know. I have tons of Music Software and I tried on VST Host and Freestyle and GigaPerforme and DAW´s that I have here (Live, Bitwig, Cubase Pro, Studio Live, Fruity Loops, Waveform).

So, I continue waiting for someone that could help me on that.

Okay, let's continue! Here are some more questions. How about we just try testing Massive X in Komplete Kontrol first to simplify the setup?

• What exact model Surface Studio do you have? This one? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...-1st-gen-ee58a743-6463-2557-e66e-4dc4b3207881
• What is the exact version of your Windows OS? For instance, is it Windows 10 Pro, Version 20H2?
  
• Which graphics card are you using? Please try forcing integrated or discrete graphics on the Komplete Kontrol app as detailed here: https://surfacetip.com/how-to-force...-discrete-graphics-on-microsoft-surface-book/
  
• How many monitors do you have connected? To at least get one working scenario it would be best to use the internal monitor.
• Can you keep your Windows Display Scaling set to 100% and try both the 50% and 100% View Sizes in Massive X, please?

Be aware that there are bugs we are working on, but we should be able to get at least one working setup. One issue I discovered while debugging was that if the scaled resolution of Massive X was larger than the display monitor's resolution it can be cropped to fit. And this difference depends on system scaling and internal scaling. It's possible that the DPI of the display is a factor as well.

Let's see where we are at after this.

I have two exactly same Microsoft Surface Studio 2 Computers, that comes with:
i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz
32Gb RAM
2Tb NVMe PCIe Internal SSD
NVidea GeForce GTX 1070 – Driver Version 27.21.14.6205
Monitor 4000 x 3000 Hi DPI. (integrated)

Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H1
OS Build 19043.1202

I found now that on VST Host Freestyle from New Sonic Arts is working now.
AND another computer that I have are working also (from my wife that I´m testing now).
But on other DAW´s andKomplete Kontrol it´s not working on my main computer.

Hi Daniel.
I just found what is happening. Not the solution yet.
I use the product Stream Deck from Elago to open and do macros on my softwares.
Do you now this product? It´s here:

So, when I open the DAW or VST Host through Stream Deck, the problem happens (and only with NI Massive X and Super 8 R2).
If I open thought the Desktop icon, the plug-ins open correctly.
I really don´t know how Steam Deck could interfere with NI products, since it´s a simple “Key macro” USB-C hardware to do Macros and open software and Web pages.

I just installed ths same configuration on my other computer from my wife and the problems happens exactly the same. Stream Deck is interfering on Komplerte Kontrol. I don´t know how it´s possible since th eproducts is only for Macros ans Key functions.

So, that´s it.

Thanks for your further investigation.

Yes, I know Stream Deck, one of these days I will probably get one for myself!

It may be something to do with the wrapper that launches the apps but I don't know how Stream Deck does this exactly. We will log a bug specifically for this scenario and look into it.

As a workaround, is it possible to change DPI related settings for the Stream Deck app itself? i.e: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-...ngs-classic-apps-windows-10-april-2018-update

Hi Daniel. I made all tests here and I can´t fix changing the DPI from Stream Deck.
Anyway, the problems is exatly this one when I use Stream Deck.
