Is there a clear roadmap for Massive X?

im really curious if there will be workflow improvements like for example Browser. Its really a bummer there is not even Favourite a preset option or organising your own and external unoficial NI patches in to banks.

    NI doesn't do public roadmaps.

Well at least to know if there is a priority for some very important features like proper browser manager (because admit it, its a mess now) would be good to know :)

I'd be interested as well. After the initial updates, is been a while that it seemed like MX is actively worked on.

i would be pretty happy if NI just used the NKS stuff in a Maschine/Komplete Kontrol-like browser for Massive X

We've been on V1.31 for around 1 1/2 years now. I hope NI aren't about to discontinue MX!

We're definitely not planning to discontinue Massive X and there should be further updates.

I was kinda joking....however, you could let us know when Absynth is going to get the chop. I feel like the guillotine is coming for it soon. I've stopped using it for this very reason.....or are you going to give it an update?

I haven't hear anything in regards to Absynth 5. It doesn't seem like an update is in the work but it doesn't mean we'll discontinue it either ;)

That's good to know, although Absynth in its current form does have quite a lot of failings.

One question is, why ask for "feature suggestions" if you have no plan to implement any?

Personally, I think us customers would be better off if you could transfer any unique features found on Absynth over to Massive X where they'll at least retain some degree of longevity, because let's face it. NI has an entire soft studio of discontinued plug-ins already.

Absynth has too many unique features just to be ported over to Massive X, which is a fairly differently laid out synth.

Are you talking about feature suggestions for Absynth 5 here or just in general ?

When it comes to feature requests, we obviously can't add everything but we're always checking what's possible and how high suggestions sits on user's wish-list. I admit the structure of this process here on the forum is not as transparent as it should be. This is something we're going to work on in the near future.

As for Absynth 5 ported over to Massive X, it's not going to be possible. They are both fundamentally different synths and it wouldn't really make much sense in my opinion. We're not planning to discontinue either and they both moving forward with compatibility updates.

I think i've been misunderstood. I only suggested that perhaps Absynth's "unique features" could be ported over to MX. Not Absynth in its entirety.

As I said previously, i've stopped using it. I don't see the point in adding it to my projects if there's no upgrade path as that alone spells "obsolescence".

Surely the idea is to add features and functionality. MX is still in its infancy in regards to development.

I would also like to add to the wishlist the assignability of mono/poly modes and other performance controls like legato and glide, so that we can play both chords and monophonic legato lines with the same patch as needed. The original Massive also lacks that functionality but on the other hand FM8 that is a pretty old synth has it. In Massive X, with glide it is kind of doable by turning the glide on and then dialing it with glide time knob which is assignable but the left most position still shows 11.2 mili seconds, odd.
I often see the lack of musician's perspective in the design of synths as this, a lot of us would like just to open it and play it right away.

    Thanks, cheers!
