    Appreciate that ;)

It's not always easy that's for sure but as long as everyone is being respectful (like on this thread), I'm always happy to share some insights.

Thankfully, forums have never been an indicator for anything.

Anyway, as has been said, I'm not sure if MX is really supposed to be NI's "flagship" product. It's surely the most sophisticated soft synth they have in their portfolio, but, what does that say really? None of us knows how well it has sold, and how well it has been received. All that I can say is that it's a great synth, with a few shortcomings in terms of feature set and operation. Which is IMO easily compensated for by its sound.

And, when you talk about Diva, maybe you should ask yourself why there's still much more talk about Sylenth1 than about Diva. If you really want to ask yourself such questions. What I'm trying to say: Different synths.

Not really, no. MX often uses LESS CPU than Diva, because it's employing AVX instructions, which Diva isn't.

Wait MX works on M1 via Rosetta 2? Hmmmm I thought NA wouldn't even show MX as available to install on M1 machines for now...

Either way, M1 doesn't have AVX instructions, so that'd be a given, all Rosetta 2 can do is use a combination of slower SIMD instructions...

    It’s a great synth. I like it a lot.
It’d be nice to know it was coming to AS soon, because until it I have that assurance I won’t be investing any more time into it. AS us where I’m heading, inevitably, sooner or later.

Surprised you can run it on an M1 Mac...

Agreed. Counter effect is that it possibly limited a bit its diffusion ?

What actually happens when you run MX on Apple M1?

First I don’t know if you can install it, but then Massive X requires AVX special instructions to run that are not emulated by the Rosetta2 emulator engine. I think you know this ?

Yes. Read what I wrote... What happens when you try to run MX on Apple M1?

Doesn't it install? Does it install, but doesn't run? Is there a crash? Is there an error message?

AFAIK, AVX is not not an option for better performance, AVX is needed for the engine to run. So I don’t know if there will be a crash or if MX will display a graceful error message, but nothing good can happen it seems. May be Matt can give more details.

Ok, thanks. Just trying to understand the problem, as I don't have Mac (M1) here.

I think you're right, it should either not install, or not work at all.

There are two interpretation to what GuyCool wrote.

    1) He adresses that MX does not run on M1.
    2) He is close to porting MX to M1. And so far, MX does not run well on M1.....
