Just a bit of wide question, what do most people or what is the default limiter
    master setting?

For optimal sound quality, disable the limiter and keep your levels well below clipping (peaks in the blue or orange on the Main meters)

    +1

Specially if you are using mixed in key platinum notes, disable the autogain + limiter and make sure traktor EQ's + main knob are on “0.0” this is my experience.

You can use any headroom setting you like, as long as you don't clip your output. All it does is decrease your Master output.

Makar, when you say 'all it does', is 'it' the headroom?

Yes, headroom lowers your Master Output.

The difference is that your VU meters will not go down, but the red clipping indicator will still trigger if and when you clip your output.

Agree. To me the limiter is for inexperienced users who would play too loud & then complain about the "crappy sound in Traktor" ;D

It is a good idea to turn the limiter on if someone else is using your laptop (which by itself may not be a good idea though ;) )

lol... +1 to all kallekenkel said ^^

you should be dj enough to notice when you're clipping and the sound starts to distort and assign your levels along.

yup... always disable the limiter & leave ample headroom... this way when you're mixing in multiple tracks & adding effects (each of which causes doubling up of sound) you won't clip your master output... i usually leave 6dB of headroom & still keep a watch on those LEDs. any decent venue will have powerful enough amplifiers to drive their sound system & make it sound right. plus they have a limiter on their mains before anything goes out...so no worries about blowing out the speakers. :D
