Mbox 31ms latency w/ laptop XP

    I am using GR2 standalone right now and can only get 512 buffer going and 31ms latency without hearing a annoying clicks. surely my laptop can do better than this:

    Sager laptop WinXP Pro
    P4 3.0Ghz
    1 gig ram
    MBOX

    this is pretty unplayable to me. It seems using the sound card built in the laptop gets me better latency. I am trying to start recording using PT LE w/ MBOX but how can I make tight tracks with so much latency?

    I'm planning on buying a new PC laptop around $1500. I want to run GR in it.

    What's the best way to get the lowest latency possible? What sound cards are good with laptops? Etc..

    Also, can I use the same software on my laptop and my desktop? When I'm home I will use my desktop, but when I'm traveling, I will use my new laptop.
