First off, yes, the Mac version doesn't work. I'll let the web guy know ASAP, but it is Christmas (officially now on the east coast, yay), so it'll take awhile.

And for the one other thing i wanted to say...
For god sakes, we don't need a dozen topics with two posts in each of them about this darn program. :)

Thanks John for taking care of the notification, as someone has said elsewhere it's the thought that counts, I look forward to trying it out when it is fixed and thank NI along with all the the great Reaktor ensemble contributors (a tireless, creative and generous bunch you are) for a great year of music making machines! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Just spotted this over at the forums at osxaudio (um....maybe they forgot about this forum?):

    <<
    Hello everybody,

I am from the NI staff and would like to let you know that we are working on the problem!

To clear things up a bit, it looks like a file server problem which occured a short while ago stripped the installer file of its ressource fork *after* it went through Quality Control, which is why the problem went unnoticed.

We are currently working hard to put up a proper version and hope to be done soon. Please apologize and be a little easy on us.... METAPHYSICAL FUNCTION is really a labour of love and we are quite embarrassed about this incident.

Be assured that NI is totally dedicated to OS X development, and that you will get your hands on METAPHYSICAL FUNCTION soon! Have a merry Christmas!

    - Tobias

...well. I hope not too many folks bothered to get Wiretap...real empty love this time, apparently, as it looks like it's working but creates empty files...pah!! But MetaFunc IS a treat! Thanks again.

As has been mentioned elsewhere, Rogue Amoeba's "Audio Hijack Pro" is a great Mac OSX tool to record standalone (especially to realtime jam on ensembles). It also allows VST and AU's to be inserted. Records up to 24 bit files picked off from the 32 bit stream before Core Audio and can auto split and time out recording files, numerically naming them all why you keep jamming. A $30 download last time I looked, well worth it for live manipulation of ensembles.

    dcoffin,
I tried out wiretap, and no problems (Panther 10.3.2 on Ti-Book 667), it even directly opens and loads its recording into Spark XL for me - a timesaver! There is a choice of 32bit float, or several other options, depending upon your needs.
So, for me, wiretap is a plus!

Hmmm...so maybe it's 10.3 I need? currently running 10.2.8, and Wiretap is a dud...as it is for many others judging by the forums at Ambrosia. HijackPro looks cool, but I guess I'll wait to see if Ambrosia comes out with SnapzPro2 any time soon; that'll include Wiretap and I'll be upgrading it anyway....thanks, guys.
