Metronome without controller?

Anyone know if you can enable the metronome from the software instead of PLAY+SHIFT on the maschine controller?

 

Where's your controller?

 

I have it. But sometimes I just like to work with only the program on my macbook and not have to lug around the controller to band rehearsal and such.

from my research it looked like this isnt possible but the posts were over a year old. have they added this yet? sometimes ill be on the couch or in bed messing around with a sample and it can be hard without a metronome

 

NI hasn't done or added anything to Maschine to make it more user friendly without the controller and they more than likely never will.

It pretty much defeats the purpose of the product.

 

i was gonna ask the samething about the metronome ..thats stupid you need the controller to get a metronome! same as there being no timeline or clock basic things that are needed for maschine software to take over from a daw ..

im betting there going to impliment these in maschine 2.0 but by then we will have to pay for the update to get feaures which should really be in 1.8..

 

Maschine's whole intent is integration between software and hardware.
They have yet to add anything to Maschine for the purpose of breaking that bond.

No reason they would allow the Met select from software since they intend for it to be used with the hardware and the hardware does it quickly.

 

I understand that. I just figured there would be a shortcut on the keyboard for recording with a count in. Something I'd like to see them add but no big deal.

 

There is a keyboard shortcut section in the Hardware Controller reference. You probably can't do it, but check there for more options.

 

in a pinch you can lay down a click track with a hihat in a different group. but yeah, it is strange that there is no metronome button in the ui.

 

I wouldn't expect it! There is no way time code either loll.

WOW! 10,000 opinions on how to start the metronome and all these intricate paths we suggest and for some reason nobody thinks "hey why dont we just put a hi-hat in a different group on a simple 4/4?" BRAINFART! i swear im down with all the tech stuff but i guess too much super awesome hi-tech equipment can take you a long way form the basics! very helpful my man thanx! XD hilarious!
