Mic with Audio Kontrol 1

    I have a Shure PG58 mic and I plugged it into the mic input on the Audio Kontrol 1 and set the preferences for input and output in garageband as Audio Kontrol 1/2 input and for the sound settings on my mac but I still cannot get any sound from my mic. I also changed the mic input on my mac settings to Audio Kontrol 1. Anyone know how to fix this?

    Open the details for the channel, and select Channel.1 (mono) and turn monitoring on as well.

    I was having the same trouble, with a keyboard.

    I tried EVERYTHING I could think of to get it to work, and finally tried your suggestion of turning on Monitor and setting it to mono. This worked, but then I kept getting this LOUD high-frequency squeal (high A-flat), with a keyboard signal that could not compete with it.

    How do I get RID of that high A-flat squeal? And how do I get an acceptable keyboard signal?
