...but how far is far? Does anyone know? I've re-read the manual but can't find out. I thought the 'distance' knob might have been the answer, but this is only the distance of the second mic from the first mic (hence why this parameter is only available when using more than one mic per cab).

So say I want to emulate the sound of the 87 backed up six foot from the amp..can I do that? It's clear that the 'Far' position is the most similar thing to this, but is there a way to change how far? If not, does anyone know the distance emulated on this setting?

    Thanks a lot!

While there is no dedicated control over how "far" the mic is from the cab, so you still have control over it. The way the program is designed, the two mics will always be in phase with each other. One of the built in phase or flanger effects will essentially have the same effect as moving the mic closer or further away because the effect will make it out of phase. If you want your second mic to be really far back, put a little verb on it or mix it with a room mic.

i`d say "how far" is exactly how far it SOUNDS....isn´t music about hearing? who cares if it´s 6 feet or 8...it has to sound right.if it sounds too close i just move it back a bit...
