MIDI CC Automation Out?

New feature for Maschine 1.5 "Support for MIDI Continuous Controller and Pitchbend."

I expected this to include the ability to record and send MIDI CC automation out of Maschine to hardware and other plugins. Is this possible and I'm just not seeing it, or does the "support for MIDI CC" only refer to the MIDI learn function for the new macro controls.

I really want to just use Maschine and my hardware synths without a DAW, but lacking the ability to record and output CC automation kind of kills that idea.

 

hi,

support for pitchbend means any sound inside Maschine responds to pitchbend.
regarding midi cc's,only the group macros respond to them,so as to automate those in a sequencer(ableton,cubase,you get the idea.......)

like yourself,i would love to be able to record external midi gear or VST's cc's into Maschines sequencer.

I have been asking for the same thing myself multiple times and I am not sure I have received yet a satisfactory answer. I know you can currently record and send Pitch Bend and Mod Wheel out to external gear and VSTs. But I have not been able to send other Midi CCs...
Unless we hear from somebody at NI, this remains somewhat of a mistery...

 

Same here, haven't received any feedback on this yet...
But I'm afraid that the sad answer to this will be that there isn't any full "Support for MIDI Continuous Controller" in this update... Just some Midi CC in for the Macro thingy and host automation. Still hope i'm wrong though.

 

When I select midi out module in either standalone or VST I can send pitch bend to external gear or other VST synths after drawing it in the modulation pane.

Addional CC's apart from Pitch Bend, Modwheel and sustain are not sent out from maschine.

So this is what maschine is outputting. Concerning the inputs, maschine can handle any CC input to a macro, meaning any CC can be learned or assigned in the macro pane.

 

Could you clarify some things?
From what I gather, Maschine will send out pitch, sustain and mod wheel if it is already drawn in the modulation pane but it WILL NOT send pitch sustain and mod wheel to the midi outs in real time for live playing?

I believe this was stated to be a bug and that it should be able to send pitch, mod wheel and sustain to midi out in real time in the next beta. Is this still true?

 

Will it be possible to send out other CC in future beta or are the pitch bend, mod wheel and sustain the only CC that Maschine can support ?
I use Kore 2 with Maschine and hope to control the knobs and buttons as automation directly in Maschine.

 

If you have the midi out module selected, and in this slot have midi pitchbend, modwheel or sustain drawn as automation data this will indeed be transmitted.

The bug was that this was not transmitted when only playing a sound in keyboard mode, but it would work when notes were drawn.
And we also had a bug that the sustain was not transmitted over the midi out module

When you encounter midi CC's that wont work in real time for the next beta, please submit these as bugs. And give this a good spin with the next beta.

Are there future plans to allow this?

If I set up Macros on a group to receive midi CC from 8 Kore knobs, can I then send it via midi out back to Kore in real time?

I mean, are macro assigned midi cc only for input or can Maschine send macro assigned cc's to midi out?

I agree, I would like to be able to hit record in Live, jam on the Maschine for a while and have all my moves recorded as MIDI when I'm done. Right now I get around this by just recording maschine's audio output onto another channel, obviously not nearly as nice as being able to revise the performance as MIDI!
