Midi Lag when connected to external synth

Hello,
I am very new to the Maschine world, recently bought a Maschine Studio controller. I am currently digging the software and the hardware and am looking forward to sharing music I make in the future with y'all.

I recently started jamming with a friend of mine who has an Elektron Analogue Four and Octatrack. His Octatrack was the master device and Maschine Studio controller was connected to him through the 'Midi Out' port. Everything works fine however we keep getting a lag every few mins in the middle where the music kinda skips in the middle and gets back on track. I am not sure if I am explaining this correctly. Its like a cd skip of sorts.

Has anyone else ever faced this problem? If yes, can you please let me know what you did to fix it?
