    Hey there,
somebody ever build something like a midi loop recorder ?

A midi recoder which records a short period of all incoming midi data (Pitch, Gate and Controllers) and loops it after a certain time.
Like the korg electribes do for examle ...

I think this would be great live fun for ensembles like beatmasher etc ... I guess also tim exile uses something like this.

    Somebody could build that ?
I think I am not professional enough for that to make it alone.

I tried that midi looper, but I think it only recods midi notes but no controllers ... I would like to have a recoder that loops all incoming midi data ... I wonder why it didn't get built until now - seems something fundamental for me

i don't think this has been built as a single device, you could record your modulation onto a separate event table.

Brinkmann's xy-fx1 has a recordable xy. you could assign 2 controllers
1 to the x the other to the y and record the movements.

but there is not single (Reaktor) device that records Pitch/Gate and Controller stuff onto a single recorder.

actually phil i think you might be wrong,i remember martin brinkmans obvious ensemble which is a loop groove box synthesiser with drums and it has the option to record midi in to a looping seq.for lead synth as i remeber.still i might be wrong

but Obvious2 only records MIDI Note and Gate data onto monophonic sequencers (Synths and drums).

it does not record data from controllers.
