I use Traktor Pro 2.5 in HID Advanced mode on 2 CDJ2000 with a macbook pro.
I want to make some adjustments on the controls. This was easy in earlier version of Traktor, just by using the "learn" button. But now with the new update some buttons on the CDJ2000 are no longer available. Like the Loop In and Loop Out button.
I want to use these buttons to make loops bigger of smaller instead of Loop In and Loop out.

Can this be done? In early versions of Traktor it was possible!

    Anyone?

I'm wondering exactly the same thing.

Can someone from NI please clarify this. In HID Mode, there are a number of buttons on the CDJ that cannot be assigned to controls in Traktor, a "Not Assignable" error comes up in the controller manager when I try to do this.

If I set up a Generic Midi device these buttons can be assigned using midi values, not their HID values. Which would be acceptable, but there is no way to send output values back to the CDJ if set up as a generic midi device. Which is really annoying because in a dark club the feedback from the CDJ lights would be very helpful, not to mention being able to navigate through tracks using the screen rather than laptop.

I've been a Traktor user since the old T2, right through up to now. What has always been so awesome about the software has been its openness, how I could use it exactly how I wanted to. The CDJ 2000 & 2000 Nexus are very practical controllers and they're in every club I play in so I want to use them with Traktor. But with the new direction Traktor is going by closing up its software (especially remix decks & now the CDJ) and forcing users to use it in a certain way is really turning me off NI's products (Not to mention stifling creativity). I'm at a tipping point where I'm about to ditch Traktor altogether and just move over to CDJs & Rekord Box.

It is possible but you have to think out of the box by combining both general midi and HID. The I/O out midi commands are not provided by Pioneer. If you check the manual of the CDJ you will see that they have not listed any of the out commands.
The NI engineers provided a way to control most of the lights out. E.g. I can MAP the flux mode in midi and control the lights using the provided CDJ mapping by NI.
I can not assign effects to the Vinyl speed adjust knobs via the NI Mapping but I can achieve this via Midi.
In this case I really think it is mainly pioneer to blame for not providing the midi commands to control the LEDs. I did raise this Q at the pioneer forum but I did not receive a full list. I assume the NI and Pioneer engineers have the full list but it is not made public.

You do know that this option is already available via the 4 beat loop button?
