I've tried taking a few of the sequencers out of the library instruments & adding midi out events to make a simple midi step sequencer. I always end up with hanging midi notes on my bass station though. Any ideas?

I've built a midi sequencer based on the QuickSQ instrument from the user library but would REALLY like to add a note glide feature so I can create longer notes. Has anyone done this?

    thanks

The midi note hanging problem seems to be a Reaktor one, i get this problem when using a lot of instruments together, say 8+. As yet, I don't think a solution exists. :(

As for the note glide feature, I haven't a clue. Sorry.

The hanging notes are starting to irritate me as well, it happens virtually every time i touch my keys....

Action needs to be taken !

Glide : don't know how to construct it, but sum synt from the lib has such a knob, have a look there..

    thanks for the replies.

Can't help thinking that there must be a work around when constructing instruments though as Martin Brinkmann's quick sequencer instrument & new Mr melody ensemble from the user library don't seem to leave notes hanging.

    cheers

the midi note out module is a very simple way of turning data into note on's and off's. it just takes any value you send to the p input and holds it. if you send anything besides 0 to the g input it sends a note on for the last value received at p. if you send 0 it sends a note off for the last value at p. just remember, every note on must get a note off, someday & you must send the p value you want to turn on or off before the g(ate). i've got a macro with inputs for pitch, velocity, and hold time, if anyone is interested.

Cheers Kim I wud definitely like a copy of the macro. From what you said I guess the hanging notes problem could be caused by the sequencer or midi note out module changing P value before the note off is sent.

I will be posting an ensemble called Pericles shortly that does what you want. It has chord players which sents notes off before it sends notes on. The design was a 'little' more complicated than I expected, but it does work--when you change any control, it sends the note off for the old value before it sends the note on for the new value.
