mikro / vista

hi all, bit new to this maschine lark, just purchased M-mikro mk2, everything were going well until " this product requires at least windows 7" ! I've read up about this issue on a few threads and even contacted Microsoft to which they said I'd have to pay £100 to upgrade to 8 because they can't upgrade to 7 no more, I understand vistas rubbish but? and sorry for asking this ( understand many have asked before) but is there anyway i can get up and running? also i have vista service pack 2 installed and im using a sony vaio if thats any help, thankyou for your time ....
