I downloaded Traktor and have been playing a while. I'm an occasional user and have extensive experience with VirtualDJ.

I feel comfortable using a keyboard and a mouse to mix; I have neither external decks nor mixer. However it seems Traktor requires additional hardware, notably a mixer, right (this is what going through the wizard implied)?
The presentation page of Traktor Pro 2 suggests a couple of recommended controllers. They seems to be pretty advanced for my personal usage.

Which minimal hardware do you recommend to use with Traktor? As I said I feel comfortable using a keyboard and a mouse; I don't need the state-of-the-art in terms of hardware.

    Thanks in advance,

The Kontrol S2 is a good small controller that controls all the standard functions in Traktor.

Or a Xone K2, even more minimal (but different from most modular / no-jogwheel-controllers it has an Audio Interface built in)..
imo the best & cheapest solution for a digital minimalist home setup.

    Thanks guys.

Xone K2 looks interesting. However the price is very close to NI Kontrol F1's. Is F1 more interesting?
Kontrol S2 offers a double benefit: Tracktor Pro & an built-in audio card, both of which I have to buy separately.

The K2 and F1 are modular controllers that are typically used alongside a main controller like an S2, or an external mixer.

Controllers like the S2 are called "all-in-ones" that give you everything you need for basic mixing.

.. that said, you can still use the K2 as a standalone controller to control 2 or 4 decks, transport etc... Only that you won't have jogwheels (which are ubiquitous anyways imo)

Interesting. I think Kontrol S2 is a good starting point. Thanks!
