    Hey,

I recently updated my NI plugins.
Now im missing few 64bit plugs from my daw (Cubase 6.5.5) like Kontakt 5, Reaktor 5 and Battery 4.
Instead, i have a new "Native Instruments" directory in my instruments drop down menu which are in 32bit bridged versions.

I found x64 application launchers for my missing plugins but i cant find the .dll files.
This means there's a x64 .dll somewhere in my computer, no?

i would like to reorganize my plugs, where did they go?o_O
    I am on a PC.

    Regards.

You probably should have the 64-bit dlls somewhere.

You did select them during the install didn't you? Which folder did you select for them during the install? (note the same one as the 32-bit, I hope) Or did the installer not offer you a choice, and just put them wherever the original installer put them? Can you recall where that was?

Try a search of your whole disk for (for example) Kontakt to see what you have and where. Let us know the result.

    Hey DarkStar,

I forgot to mention that this update is for Komplete/Ultimate users in prep for NI's Kontrol software.

I updated them through Service Center. it gave me 2 options for each application, "Download" and "Install". the install was automatic.
I was going through emails that day and i was doing the updates in the background so my attention was not with the procedure. i dont remember much but having to click "Download" and "Install" :[.

I have 2 directories for my NI VSTs. One "set" in x86 directory and another in my 64 directory (im on Win7 64bit). The one in my 64 directory has a bunch of NI app folders one of which is named "VSTPlugins 64 bit", there i have all my NI 64bit dll's. None of these i've made intentionally, meaning sometime during the course of using Komplete 7 ~ 9 Ultimate those directories were made.

After searching my system with the phrase "Kontakt", i found a folder titled "Kontakt_5_541U_PC", in it has a setup app for 5.4.1, I think that's the latest update. Although i think this can resolve my issue, im a bit hesitant. How is the x64 apps working without a .dll? Will it mess up my past projects in Cubase?

Lastly, i also found, in one of the Kontakt folders in the search, 2 .dll's called "KConvert32.dll" and "KConvert64.dll". This is my first time seeing these files and i dont know if it has anything to do with my problem but they seemed suspicious so....lol.

OK, so in your 64-bit VST folder, the old versions have been deleted? Is that right? But your last post indicates to me that they are there. During a previous install those folders owuld have been created.

What folder(s) is Cubase looking in for VST(i)s?

As I understand it, the 64-bit app programs do not use the 64-bit dll files and are installed at different stages of the install.. (At least that is the case with earlier versions here.) And, I would have though the the "Kontakt_5_541U_PC"" folder would have been deleted after the install.

The KConvert dlls are fine, not suspicious.

One more question - are you missing all the NI 64-bit plug-ins or only some of them?

    ----------------------
If it were me, I might try running the update again (having done an image back up (and, on Windows, made a a System Restore checkpoint) first). At your own risk, though.

As it's a bit odd, raise an NI Support Ticket too or phone them.

    Hey DarkStar,

Thats the reason why im confused. there's an application launcher for my missing plugins (stated below) but no .dll for me to place it in the 64bit folder. the application opens without a problem and also shows that its x64 in its information. So my assumption was that its been moved else where during the update and amidst the confusion im on the forum to see where to go from here.

Cubase's vst paths are unchanged and are looking at the correct directories, i double checked :).

I agree, i found it strange to stumble on the setup app as well especially cause i have Service Center set up to place all downloaded material onto my desktop first and my desktop has no signs of any NI related installers after the process. Also, the folder i found the setup app is not located on my desktop, it was located in the local directory under "/..user/appdata".

From what i can recall (not on the studio computer atm), the missing plugins are Kontakt 5/8out /16out, Battery 4 and Raktor 5. I cant locate these 3 plugins in the "VSTPlugins 64 bit" so its been removed during the update process for sure.

I genuinely appreciate your help, i did open a NI support ticket before posting it here because.....well, you may know...its NI support, it takes about 3 weeks for an email response. As for a phone call, i think ill do that if i get no results after like 2 days.

    Best

Download installer files from the NI site and update it straight from the installer and not thru the service center. My x64 versions of Reaktor and Kontakt went missing as well but I've reinstalled them straight from the desktop and the installer gave me option to install x64 versions as well. Looks like automatic update thru service center doesn't work properly :/

Awesome! Manual install worked. Thank you Totepady :D.

I did notice in the installers "Custom Setup" step, "VST" is ex'd out. Im assuming that is what caused the problem.

stompalero resolved it too, in that other thread, with a different approach.
