I've just had a nightmare couple of days trying to re-install everything on a new Win10 install on the studio PC. I was having real problems with Native Access & my registered Kontakt libraries. I followed NI's instructions & got everything else across OK but my Kontakt install was a shambles. I had 12 missing libraries! They didn't even show up in the 'hidden' window as un-selected - they weren't listed at all!

On top of that, in Native Access they were all showing as installed and 3 were showing as Demo only (despite being fully registered in my NI account) & refused to re-install or repair.

My support ticket to NI fell on deaf ears after one unhelpful answer but after a LOT of stress and perseverance I managed to solve the issue. There is a HUGE potential for problems between Service Centre and Native Access. I'm not sure if a clean install of Kontakt to the latest version installs SC but following the NI instructions, SC does get installed with 5.6.6. This, it turns out, was the root of my problem. The Service Centre had populated all the .xml files (Program Files/Common Files/Native Instruments/Service Center) of my registered Kontakt libraries (I believe these are the .plist files on a Mac). Deleting all of these then starting Native AccesS fixed all of the issues & I'm (finally) back up and running.

Just thought I'd post this up as a possible solution for anyone struggling with missing libraries and/or licencing issues in NA. All the threads I found regarding them related to Mac's and .plists so this is just a helpful pointer to those of us on Windows who are also stuck with shambles that is NA and the new Kontakt and aren't IT experts, just folks wanting to make music... ;)

Honestly, if NI are going to release something as major as Native Access they should make sure stuff like this can't happen - or at least respond in a timely manner to support tickets and with relevant information. It wasn't a pleasant couple of days being without libraries that I'd paid a lot of money for with seemingly no way to correlate what Kontakt saw & what Native Access was seeing.

Anyway, finally back up & running!

(oh & thanks to Evil Dragon for getting my forum password reset after that ticket was ignored as well!)

    They're not.

.xml files are the same across Win/macOS. plist files on Mac equal to registry on Windows.

Thanks goes to Keir @ NI, not me :)

Ah right ok, well at least on a Mac they appear readily accessible as opposed to a registry edit then; either way it was the Service Centre .xml's causing the issue.

Keir reset the password but it took you to put me in touch with him!
