After I moved and reorganized some folders on my pc,alot of my groups/drumkits will not load.. (my own personal ones, not factory).. Anyhow I'd like to know what method I can use to find these,if a sample is no longer in it's original folder, DOES NI MASCHINE rescan and find them? My samples drive is huge, and rescanning these will take forever..

Can anyone say if Maschine's rescan/search feature will work correctly and find the missing samples? Pointing these manually is not an option ANYMORE,because some folders are no longer around.

If you have any tips for a rescan,or anyother tips for organizing samples, please let me know.. thanks

I think, though don't quote me, that unless you can point Maschine to the samples, you're going to be a bit stuck.

Maybe someone else will give an answer you'll like the sound of more though...

Yes your right, and this is a short coming of Maschine right now, that I hope is addressed soon.. Lucky me I had all of my kits saved with samples,I just had to keep loading up projects that used the kits, and resave the kits/groups.. very laborious and I really hope N.I. can see the point, that many users may need this for convenience..

thanks for the reply.. glad to get it going again..

I do see your point that it's a bit of an issue and don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing. But I also see that if you're going to move something, it's surely expected that you're going to have to tell something that needs to know where that something is where that something is.
I know computers and computers and we expect them to do so much but if I stole your keys and put them somewhere, you could look for them, but if you were looking in the kitchen and I'd put them in the garden, you aren't going to find them. :p

Basically, it's just best not to rearrange your samples too much. At least not so much that would be so awkward to retell Maschine (or whatever) where to look. I don't know. Perhaps there is a better system. But with its library as it is, I think this is the way it's going to be.

Though saying all that, I'm obviously not against any way they could improve it. Every part of everything can be improved and this is no exception.

Good point, though With Maschine being able to read Akai .pgm files which contain information of where the samples are located within their own folder.. Naturally N.I. should also allow Maschine groups to self contain their own samples as well.. Right now it doesn't even have a proper search for samples imo.. You have to point it to the sample, whereas a better search function could be a bit more broad..

Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I'd definitely like it to have a better search for samples function, and a way to save groups with samples.
Till then your right I need to be careful where I place/rearrange sample data

No, I do agree. It can definitely be improved. And perhaps they will. I certainly wouldn't knock it, it's just not something that particularly bothers me but I can certainly see why it would be a bigger issue for others.

Everyone has their pet peeves about stuff though and I suppose this is one of yours with Maschine. Mine is the recording the first note of a pattern at the end. As I've mentioned before in various places. Having to manually move it drives me crazy.

Search using explorer find file and location, then use maschine to finish. If you used say one sample but made duplicates of the file it might ask more than once. Also don't forget to save project after you find the files
or you'll have to do it all over again!

maschine should let you select a folder for it to search for samples automatically so when sounds are moved it finds them on its own, like in FL Studio

would be nice and save people headaches. having to search for sounds and rescan (with maschine crashing almost everytime :( ) is mad gay

I agree, but instead we're getting an update to database komplete libraries?

Sorry but I feel this is a smack in the face,I've requested this since 1.0 and they've made no real substantial changes to it at all.. Enough to make me wanna sell the thing whenever it happens.. Kompletly
