hey so i made some kits referencing some .wav files in another folder. i made about 30 of them and then decided to move the referenced folder out of my downloads folder to my maschine library...anyway, to my surprise, after loading a kit, when searching for missing samples it does it ONE AT A TIME. wth? i assumed it would be a bit smarter and see that the rest of the files are in there and match them all up a la ableton.

is there a way to do this? seems a bit of a pain.

better yet, can't i make a kit that is self contained? (like, collects and saves all data to itself?) cheers

Are you using the "User Paths" tab in Preferences to relocate your samples? If not, I think you should be able to tell Maschine where you've moved the samples to in there. I think it's perhaps a bit unfair to expect Maschine to just know where you've moved the samples to. If I hid your keys, would you immediately know where they were? :p

Okay. Behind the fridge. But still, you get my point.

It's Section 2.4.3 in the reference manual if you want a reference point.

As for a "self-contained kit"... Do you mean creating a custom kit from samples from different kits/sources and then save all the samples in one place?

If I understand the OP correctly, after telling Maschine the new location of the first missing sample, it should automatically look for the others in the same place. That's a fair and reasonable assumption IMO.

i disagree totally and would expect if you move the samples then you need to relocate them and resave so it knows where they are , maschine is just using its last known memory....i can see what you are saying but i can also see the complete opposite where poople are slagging sh*t off saying it keeps looking "here and here" and i didnt tell it to so why does it do that....6 at 1 and half a dozen @ the other...

Look at Battery and Kontakt to see a proper missing sample search and resolve in action. Maschine is lacking here. This is a valid request that has been brought up before. It should allow you to choose the location of the folder to look in and resolve it automatically from there.
