i have traktor scratch pro so i imagine getting a 4 channel mixer would be best for utilizing what the software offers.

with that said, are there any 4 channel mixers that are also good for scratching? i understand faders can be upgraded but i am not to familiar with how that goes. midi options are a plus but not a must since i could always get a separate controller.

please let me know what you all have heard or experienced regarding the above.

    peace!

Basically any mixer that can take an Innofader can be made into a good scratch mixer. Myself I've got the Korg Zero4 with an Inno and it's super-sweet.

Also check out the Ecler NUO and EVO lines for 4-channel goodness. The stock crossfaders on those are very nice and the EQs are fabulous.

Hi and welcome to the forum! ;)

Here are some pretty good 4-channel(scratch)mixers:
I'm just gonna list the faders they each come with, for more info on EFX, Midicapability etc. please look the mixers up for yourself!

    - Mackie D4 - Comes with the supperb Infinium Fader
(but it's discontinued, and their customer-service (Loud Technology) seems to a bitch - according to Telly that is! ;))

    - Ecler Nuo 4 (discontinued) comes with Eclers Pro VCA Fader and will fit the Ecler
Eternal Fader as well as Audio Innovatives Innofader.

    - Ecler Nuo 5 (discontinued) comes with Eclers Eternal Fader and will fit Audio Innovatives Innofader.

    - Ecler Nuo 4.0. comes with Eclers Pro VCA Fader and will fit the Ecler Eternal Fader as well as Audio Innovatives Innofader.

    - Ecler Evo 4 comes with Eclers Pro VCA Fader and will fit the Ecler Eternal Fader as well as Audio Innovatives Innofader (I think).

    - Denon DN-X1100 comes with Denons Flexfader.

    - Denon DN-X1700 comes with Denons Flexfader.

    - Denon DN-X1700 comes with Denons Flexfader.

    - Korg Zero 4 comes with the TKD Profader, which is made by the same people who also make the Pro X Fade. It’s not the same fader, but has a high quality feel to it + it will fit the Pro X Fade as well as Audio Innovatives Innofader.

There are some other mixers by Vestax, Urei, Numark and Rane (some of which haven't hit the streets/markets yet), that you might wanna check out or wait for!

Here are some links that might help you in your decisions:

Oh we def. need to go for beers and one day we will my friend! I actually might be in Toronto this summer to visit my future in-laws, not sure yet when...but so far things are looking good!:D

PS. @ Volcy - I'm sure some of the mixers I listed above will or would also fit Eclectic Breaks Pro X Fade (which I use in my AEM-100):

    http://www.eclecticbreaks.com/proxfade/

but ever since the Innofader came out I sorta stopped reading up on the Pro X Fade...

Holla at me when you do, we can get some beers and even maybe visit the Parkdale Drink, where DJ Tabs (Traktor user in Toronto) throws down some nice oldskool hip hop and r&b.

No worries....let us know which one you end up choosing and if you modify it!
I'm in the market for a decent NoBS-4channel-mixer myslef right now and so far it seems it's either gonna be the Nuo Ecler 4.0 with an innofader or Ecler own Eternalfader or Denons DN-X1100.
Here's the link to a thread I started on the topic:

@ strat - are you thinking about waiting for the Numark x7? its tempting but as far as i can tell, there is still no official release date.

from all the research i have done, the korg zero 4 is the way to go but they are discontinued and the ones i have been able to find are mad expensive. one sold on ebay for $500 today but it seemed to good to be true and the seller had no feedback ratings.

i would also like an ecler nuo4 but they are discontinued and hard to find as well. ive read good things about the 4.0 and they are readily available but it erks me the midi functions and what not are not included on that model.

what are you leaning towards these days?

    peace

Hhhhm....yeah, orginally my two choices were:
the Nuo 4.0 but I would fit it with an Innofader or Eclers own Eternal Fader
the Denon DN-X1100 which I would probably also try to fit with an Innofader...

I chose those two mixers, because:
    a) they are cheap
b.) they both have good FX-Send/Return-slopes
c.) they both do not have midi or FX...I have Traktor with an X1 so no need for that!:D
d.) some other reasons I already described in detail in the above mentioned thread...etc.

But lately I've been sorta strapped for cash so I might just wait another month and see what the Denon DN-X1600 (the 1700 is out of my pricerange) will bring....cuz I must say Traktor Certification would be awesome!

The Numark X1 def also seems tempting but there were two issues I noticed when looking a the close-ups.....but perhaps things will still be changed on and in that mixer so we#ll have to wait and see!;)

Just wanted to let you guys know, that I just snatched up an Ecler Nuo 5 in mint condition with both the Eternal as well as the Ecler Pro Crossfader on Ebay for 230 €! So there will be no more waiting on the new Numark or Denon Mixers for me! XD

The thing is, yesterday three Nuo 5's were sold on ebay.de (all by different sellers):

The first one went for ca. 350 €.
The one (which i bought) went for 223,23 €!
The third one for ca. 400 €.

But even 400 € is still a steal for an Ecler Nuo 5 (if it is in good condition and comes with both crossfaders)...at least that's what I think!
I mean the Nuo 5 costs new between 800 - 1100 € here in Germany depending on where you buy it.
And even 2nd hand DJM-600 (which suck and sound like someone was farting into a metallcan) are still sold on ebay for 200-400...so you can imagine HOW CKUFIN' HAPPY I AM!:D
