I'm searching for a postproduction software which allow me to split my "one track" mix in to tracks. So that listeners can quickly skip to their favourite track. I suppose such functionality is available in some cd-r burn applications. Can anyone recommend what application to use? It should work in Windows Vista.

I think it's an OS X only app, but Waveburner does a proper job of that, I use it myself!

Any daw or sample editor will work: cubase, wavelab, soundforge, protools, audacity,...

Can you do like this for a 12 track mix with a cd-r burn application:
Add the continuous mix file 12 times, so you get 12 tracks. Then set track length on each track and burn with "disc at once".

Is anyone using a cd-r burn application which can do it? cd-r burn app. is a bit cheaper and easier to use than sound editing software...

I use Soundforge to cut the mix in separate tracks then burn them (in the right order) with Nero. Remember to disable pauses between tracks.

You can also add track marks directly in Nero, but I have always found that solution to be abit slow and hard to work with.

I made my first dvs mix this past week. I recorded it within tsp then re-recored the mix after running it through an external enhancer back in to tsp. While I recorded back the mix into tsp I was able to tweak the level by using the recorder gain and chop it up on the fly with the cut button.

I'm gonna put a feature request for the mapping of the cut button. That way I can map it to my crossfader so when I move it it will trigger the cut.

I'm trying to figure out a way to do all this in one pass

I use CD Wav to do this for the longest time.

    Still use it today.

sssnep, seeing how your asking what people use, I'm guessing you haven't gotten to the (maybe I misread) following question yet...
How do you burn a continuous mix, track it out, and not have spaces between tracks? The space thing is going to be the most troublesome. It's not that bad, but back in the day when I did mixes, that was what always came up. If I could help you out I would, but I'm guessing this might be your next question.

NMX had a way to split tracks on transitions or wherever the user chose to place a marker.

Unfortunately, you'll have to use T3 to use NMX. . . or bug NI to implement NMX into TP

Drag the whole thing into your audio editor of choice, cut it up, save it, and drag it into Nero or Toast. Burn it to CD making sure you have set the pause between tracks to 0 seconds. Voilla. Or drag the waves onto a new Itunes playlist, select them all, right click for "get info", tell iTunes that you do want to edit multiple items and to get lost, under options click "part of a continuious mix", click done and click the burn disc icon at the bottom of the window.

    Continuous mix CD - Done!
