okay, i aim to do more tests - but here are my results do far.

Maschine MK1 does indeed freeze. first tim e i tired it i got more repeats that you did. but yes, more tries resulted in freezes between 22 and 150.

Maschine Mikro MK1 no freezes so far- and i ran it for quite some time.

also no Freezes in Maschine Controller MK2 and Maschine Mikro Controller MK2.

please note that there are extra features on the MK2 Controllers such as Dual Color, so i do need to do more

Jas, is this App just sending MIDI Out? i am just checking that there is no MIDI In happening?

    cheers

fwiw, you can do a similar test using Ableton Live:

Draw in notes from C-1 to D# 0 using 32nds. that should give you 16 notes lasting a total of 1/2 a bar. loop that Pattern. i had my Global Tempo set to 160.

set the MIDI Out on the Track to whichever Maschine Controller you are using. and then play the clip.

so far, i have tested with the Maschine Controller MK1 and it froze after about 40 minutes or so.

now testing with the Maschine Mikro 1.

    Hi sowari & beist,

Thank you for testing it :) Sort of glad it froze :)
yeah it only sends to the selected midi port, doesnt receive anything, my hunch was that the out crashes alot more often so sending to it would be enough.

When the midi crashes you can launch maschine and it will work as normal, so it must be a driver problem, because the hardware still responds perfectly in its native usb mode. So hopefully a driver update will solve this for us :)

Let me know if i can help with anything

Jiggle's App gives quicker results, so i hope people download and test it. i also hope people test it with any Maschine Controller that they might have.

fwiw, with my Ableton Live test - the Maschine Mikro MK1 worked for hours without a freeze.

Jiggle - nice script man. My MK1 results are:
Controller Editor closed - 15 cycles (about 15 seconds)
Controller Editor open - 698 cycles (about 12 minutes)

It's good to have confirmation that it'll crash even with Controller Editor open, it just takes longer.

Your script has been delivered to NI tech support. It's (hopefully) about to help us out big time. Out of the blue, I got an email from NI that has been more helpful and less boilerplate than ever before, and I think they are beginning to realize that their focus on the templates and template installations is misguided. The downside is that they are only now seeming to understand that the issue is bigger than that. Your script is going to show them. I'll post again when I get more info.

    Ableton MIDI Test Project

inspired my jiggle, i made a simple Ablteon project that sends MIDI from a Sequence to a Maschine Controller.

make sure you the Maschine Controller selected in the MIDI To part of the MIDI Track in Ableton. also it should be selected in the Preferences in the MIDI Ports Section.

this might take a bit longer to freeze the Maschine Controller than jiggle's patch but it definitely does freeze the Maschine Controller MK1 - but not the other Controllers!

anyway, you choose the same patch that jiggles suggest you use and play the Clip in Ableton

So Why not? And if theres a good cause, pls. some admin delete my post since it is not longer editable.
beside of that it would be interesting to see if there are different firmware versions around.

Worth pointing out that as well as the Controller Editor update there is a Maschine Driver 2.5.2 update (at least on OSX) in 'Driver and Patch downloads' available.

updated to 2.5.2, used jiggles app again.

significant improvement. it went on for over an hour and a half, before i stopped it myself. while it was running i opened some other audio apps. about an hour in, it stuttered while opening traktor, but it recovered and kept running in time. cool.

    Okay,
I updated to the new Controller Editor 2.5.2 and the new Maschine driver. I'm still currently testing out jiggle's app and forgot to open my Controller editor but as I write, jiggle's bug tester app is still going at around 530 sequences and no freezes. Pad lights still blinking and running along smooth. Much thanks to Zac Zyoti, jiggle, sowari, and others to help NI finally fix this issue. It may seem late what with Ableton's new Push coming out which I may invest in but Maschine will still be put to use next to it and Ableton so it's all good with me....Okay it's now at 765 sequences......great job folks. I'm off to make music.

tried sowaris ableton script, everything fine when controller editor opened. without controller editor open one minute and maschine hardware gets stuck.
i don´t think that this issue is resolved...
iiiiiiii, maybe you can post your firmware version?
