So I've finally managed to get the template up and running, and although I'm disappointed in it's performance, I've found a workaround by routing midi channels from maschine to ableton for my personal workflow. the problem I encounter now is that when there is an instance of maschine running inside of ableton, there is no way to access the faders for ableton. When pressing SHIFT+CHANNEL it brings up midi CC's for the older template instead of the newer volume faders. On top of the fact that it under performs the older template, it also doesn't work while maschine is running. smh.

Yeah, things separate now, I hate it... at least for now while host integration is so basic.
    SHIFT+CHANNEL/MIDI = Template
    SHIFT+ PLUGIN/Instance = Host Integration.

Time will be the limiting factor D-One :( And my knowledge of functionality in both platforms (Maschine / Ableton) is not huge at the moment, just started a few months ago with both platforms to have some kind of hobby in wintertime. At the moment the weather is getting better and all spare time goes in to motocross, so not much time left to even play with Maschine / Ableton in the next months ;)

I hope color assignment and complete beat repeat integration come with the next update. That would be neat.

Regardless it still doesn't work the way it should. I should be able to use the features on this thing, Yet it's basically just a mixer that can scroll through my project and record. It's incredibly lame. really need to have an update for this. If MK2 s61 (which I own) can work so well in Ableton Live 10 apparently along with other NI products the MK3 should work just as well. Absolute sad work there at hand & when reaching out to NI I haven't provided any insight, help, or information on this problem at hand.

About to say screw it and save up and upgrade to the Push 2

The MK3 Legacy template covers most of the basics that the Host Integration doesn't take care of, but it still feels very half baked and incomplete. Even basic features like switching banks on devices is no where to be found, and God for I'd we get a legitimate manual for it. The host Integration has a small manual but the Legacy template doesn't have ****.

I felt the same way, and purchased an Ableton Push 2. I love the workflow of the 64 pads on the Push 2, but Maschine's browsing and favorite capabilities, NKS Format, and functionality over almost the entire DAW (with the exception of very minuscule exceptions) still takes the cake. As an individual coming from a workflow of producing entirely on Maschine without looking at my screen until mixing and bus processing, I was highly surprised at the lack of functionality and the quirks that the Push 2 has for the price point, and the limitations of Ableton's intro software. For the professional version of Ableton it's almost 3x the cost of a brand new MK3. One of the most upsetting features for me was the lack of adjusting all midi notes at the same time in a midi clip from the hardware(the way nudge on pads 7 and 8 are used on maschine, or via the events page). It's possible for individual midi notes, but for laying down an 8 bar melody Santa Claus could come twice before you complete each individual note. As a Hip Hop, House, and Afrobeat producer, that's a deal breaker for me to have to stop what I'm doing and look over to the computer every 4 seconds.

Now that I have them both, I use them both in tandem with one another. Everything that I do not like about one device I can completely supplement on the other. I mostly create, layer, and lay down drums, and and glitch/stutter effects via Maschine, and lay down melodies, automation, and stack instruments via Push. There's no wrong way to use any music tool for production, but there are (and should always be) a fastest solution.
