MK3 Software allow 2 MK2 Controllers on one system?

Curious if this is possible this time around with the MK3 software.

Was planning on using 2 Maschine controllers on one system on 2 instances. I made the mistake of buying a second MK2 without knowing it's not possible. I really thought it was possible and it was a costly mistake.

In the past it's only possible to use 2 of different kinds (regular+mikro, studio+regular, etc) and not of the same so I was wondering if this is possible this time around.

There is no Mk3 software. The Mk3 is the new hardware, the software is the same version 2 software (regardless of controller). The same limitations, therefore, are still in place.

If you would asked it few days ago I could have checked if MK2 can work along with MK3. But I just shipped my MK2 today.
Maybe there is someone with both of them at the moment.

I tried using my mk1 & mk3 together, expecting them to both work. Even if they just mirrored each other.
No luck. One kicks the other into midi mode instantly.
I was hoping to teach students using both controllers. If they mirrored each other it would work really well but no luck.

Seems crazy to me that NI limit the number of controllers customers can use. If you could set them to work independently I'm sure many users would buy more Maschines.
    Isn't that what NI want??

wow, that's too bad. :( was hoping to keep using my MK1 for certain things, not sure now. i can see how this could be a real problem for the software to differentiate between separate controllers, i almost assumed that it wouldn't work.

not sure what the point would be if they just mirrored each other though?

I am hoping this enhancement is on NI’s roadmap. Probably a big change though ...

How is it the jam works with another controller , yet you can't have two controllers working?

You can connect a Maschine MK3, KK MK2, Jam to the software and they will all work at the same time.
