Mmmm... K4's gorgeous convolution 'verbs ;-)

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway: is there any way to export the new convolution samples for use in reverb plugins? The Lex & Bricasti impulses sound great and I'd love to be able to use them in Space Designer, Altiverb, etc., but they're locked up in NI's monolithic containers.

And yes, I know there are similar impulses out there, but these sound a bit better to my ears so far. I did notice some of them are from Acousticas - I guess NI struck a licensing deal ;-)

    Thanks!

Great tips from Losan. I'm not sure if in the K3 factory library, these might have been clear WAV files (I'm not in front of it now so can't check)...

In K3.5 library they are wav files and in K4 they are (unfortunately) encoded as nkx data :(

Thanks for the tips. Been through all of those sites already - some good stuff there. It's probably the Acousticas stuff I'm hearing in K4 that I like so much - they do it right ;-)

Acousticas gave away a free 'Bricasti M7' pack not so long ago, but I couldn't find it anymore on their website - so you might be right, that they made a licensing deal with NI about this one.

The only other free pack about the Bricasti lib I know, is by signaltonoize
(even in true stereo) - see the first link I provided.

    @David and @Przemek K.:
all the prior available IRs in Kontakt 3 are still in the wav format in K4, only the new added IRs in K4 are encoded as nkx data

Shouldn't it be possible to sample the IRs? If you send a single sample spike through the convolution reverb and record the result I mean.
(assuming that there are no legal obstacles)

The convolution reverbs are quite stunning. The only others I have come with SoundForge, and the Kontakt ones win hands-down.

OK, I found one that I simply MUST have for use in other convolution engines. If anyone knows where I can buy this one, I'd be appreciative:

    02 Digital Reverbs > L480 > L480 Factory Large Hall A

It doesn't specifically say Acousticas, but I'm hoping that's where it's from, 'cause I've got my debit card ready to go.

    Can anyone confirm? Pretty please?

    Thanks!

It seems that they all use their own format...? Same in Cubase 5.

I remember that I had changed the names of some impulses I got elsewhere from xxx to .wav , and it worked. ;-)

    I am Chris with Acousticas.

We have licensed 200 Impulse Responses, 40 from each of our 5 libraries,
    to Native Instruments, EMT 245 & EMT 252 along with Lexicon 300, 224 & 480.

The L480 Factory Large Hall A comes from our L480 package which consists of 711 IRs.

In case anyone wishes to gain access to the manuals and read a bit about the libraries, I am including download links to those below.

    E245
    E252
    L300
    L224
    L480

And if anyone pleases, they may download our free Bricasti M7 library from the following location:

    Bricasti M7

    Happy New Year.
