    Hello,
i think it is a pity that i cant use one unique modifier for ALL controller devices
(though its fine to have more modifier options now)

e.g. in TP 112 i had a "DECK A/C" modifier toggle that i defined in all relevant keyboard AND MIDI events. (M7=0 DECK A; M7=1 DECK C)

Wouldnt it be right to have an option on each modifier "Global" / "Device only"?
Or maybe we need a modifier "send to device XX as.. "

at the moment i dont find a workaround to behave like TP112 and my
    112.tsi is useless

Any hope for the release version ?

The new structure of the Modifiers are very tricky ;-) but when u understand the idea its very easy to make a new mapping....because u can generate for one Controller seperatet "Pages" depend from the functions with each 8 modifiers

OK its now a little bit work to make a new mapping, but in future u will have a better overview and a lot of modifier, so its easier to map.

For me and my 2 DX2 i will make a Mapping who shows nearly so:
    DX2 DECKA
    DX2 DECKB
    DX2 DECKC
    DX2 DECKD
    FX UNIT 1/2
    FX UNIT 3/4
    Global Options
    Browsing

Now i must only map for one DECK and than i Copy all Functions and Learn the Buttons...thats all...no attention on the Modifiers, or to forget any function.

    Thanks 4 the reply
i think i understand the new logic
thats very fine with 2 controllers for 2 seperate decks/fx but on my drehbank i use 2x24knpbs for each deck A(C) and B(D) and on my keybord i use 2x24 keys A(C)/B(D)
many of theme layered with different functions.
i dont want to do the Deck A->C toggle on both devices.
my tsi has hundred of lines

    Am i missing something?

U can also map all function in only one "Page" (its the standard when u update from 1.1.2 in 1.2) so u will have only one modifier bank of 8 mod.

But with an intelligent mapping u need more then 8 mod.
A little example with Loop Functions:
    Loop On/Off
    Loop Length
    Loop Move

Loop Move only needed, when Loop On...so u need a modifier to spare Knobs for functions....when u will map this for each deck, u need 4 modifiers only for this simple thing....

Similar for this behaviour, Beat Jump, Key etc....
In the "old" Version i have needed 16 Modifier, but only 8 available...that was a problem....now i have 8 mod for each Deck and its enough.

Right, the only functionality that has been taken away at this point is the ability for keyboard mappings to affect the same modifiers as in your midi mapping and vice versa.

You can of course still map out all your MIDI devices in one logical controller and therefore multiple MIDI devices can share the same modifiers.

i hope you and NI will understand that it's no fun to tell the midi controller (or device)
"you are controlling DECK C" while the keyboard (device)
    is already set so

I have to admit that its fine to have this split as an OPTION, BUT NOT AS A MUST !

Therefore, I would like to have a DEVICE MODIFIER Option
    IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES !

I'm with chong on this one. Whilst I recognise the advantages of having more modifiers to play with I would have welcomed the option of inter connectivity a la keyboard and midi devices. I was going to set up the numerical keypad as my main modifier section, thus freeing up buttons for triggering events. I was about to commence remapping until I noted this. I will find alternatives but it would it have been a useful function.

i am actually not quite sure what chong is asking for. i am all for global modifiers as an option, plus being able to select the device target based on modifiers.

    hi dyb
yes, i want both types of modifiers-"GLOBAL" PLUS "device bound"
i thought about a propor solution for implementing this and found that a
modifier on a whole DEVICE would do the job nicely. The screenshot in Post#6
shows where this additional setting might be.
    Dont you hear me PhilL?

    @chong:
its a while ago when I did my last midi modifications so I'm not sure if it is really possible, so it's just a thought ...
As far as I remember for the most "commands" there is also an option for a output settings. As far as I read there is no output for keyboard, but for midi this should be possible. Is it possible to set an modifier as result of an output definition?

Keyboard: Switch to Deck A - Input - Key "A"
    Switch to Deck B - Input - Key "S"

MIDI: DeckChange - Output - MidiNote ? can you set a modifier here ?

if you can't set a modifier in output, maybe you can do something like a bank switch on your midi controller?
