The issues between NI and the M1 have been going on for a long time now, but is there light at the end of the tunnel, does anyone know?
I've just bought a 2TB external drive but I can't put anything on it because Native Access keeps telling me my hard drive is full...so frustrating!

Well there will be of course but as anyone should already be aware, any new apple OS (and especially hardware) release needs some significant time to allow developers time to test and deploy updates. Typically as history goes 2-6 months for full compatibility for an OS release with patches and for a new hardware architecture I would double that out to 12 months possibly. There would be a LOT to test and confirm and these days with all the security BS tacked on top, macOS systems are not as simple and easy to develop for and make reliable as they once were. Check the forum topics here already for more official statements from NI as I can only speculate.

An unfortunate downside of adopting new Apple tech early is you have to wait for the rest of the world to catch up.

Native Access should work as expected on a M1 computer. Please check that your hard drive is formatted to APFS and make sure to give Full Disk Access to Native Access in your MAc's system preferences, under Security & Privacy:

If you still struggle after that you can get in touch with my colleagues here: http://bit.ly/NIsupport_install

One of the first things I did do. I shall have another go but if no joy I shall take up the kind offer of the NI chap who replied.

    Thanks anyway.

yep, still struggling with Monterey on M1 Pro. Traktor sometimes freezes when I try to close the app, or when launching - it freezes with message 'Updating settings file'

Still unable to get Kontakt to recognise my external drive. Apple Support UK have tried and failed three times, and the 'support' from NI is almost non-existent! I go through the whole process of trying to get in touch with someone at NI and a day or so later they send you a ticket...great.

I paid a lot of money for Komplete 13 but I'm unable to use it, and neither Apple or NI can give me an answer.

Hey there, did my colleagus got back to you ? It's our busiest period in the year, so sometimes it can be a bit slower. Can you give me your ticket number by direct message ?

No. They have not responded, and I have not received a ticket. Unless my issues are rectified I will be returning the goods and demanding a refund.
I have been fair and above board with your. company but like many NI customers I feel I am being continuously pushed aside.

I am not happy. I have paid a lot of money for nothing, all I get in return is "It's not our fault, it's Apple's for bringing out Monterey and the M1 chip."

Your designs are intended to work WITH Apple, not the other way around.

Please, I ask once again, from the bottom of my heart, somebody help me to get this situation sorted.

    Hey Glen,
Thanks, I edited your post, it's never a good idea to put emails on a public forum, that's why we ask users too send it by private message.
I checked in our system and you submitted 3 requests. You said you didn't get replied but I can see you got replies and conversations. You had replies form 2 agents. My colleague sent you a reply last tuesday and you didn't reply to that. You can still reply to him, the ticket is still open.

It is true that not all of our products are fully supported, so please keep this in mind. I also saw that you make no mention in these requests of this here: "Native Access keeps telling me my hard drive is full". This is a very important piece of information that could have been helpful to my colleagues. I would suggest checking this article: Installation has been prevented

I have not received any replies from anybody at NI and I resent the implication that I have. I continuously check my email folders and I have not received one reply from NI. I have twice given you people my email in order ro carry out this conversation in private.
I spent almost two hours this morning with Apple support UK and they have made it quite clear that the onus is upon NI to get their products to work with Apple. Something you have systematically failed to do.

Mate you do realize it takes companies some time to make things work when a new Apple OS is released, not to mention a whole new Apple processor architecture. Are you new to computers / Apple?

NI are not the only ones playing catch-up. It can take up to 6 months to test and get things working, a reason it is common recommendation to never be an early adopter unless you understand the risks but if you really don’t have patience then prob best to return it. A xylophone has no compatibility issues I hear.

Nah, a xylophone through a Marshall stack gives too much feedback!

Yes, I understand what you're staying, but I was basically quoting Apple Support UK, to paraphrase: "Get on to NI and give 'em a kick up the arse!"
Everything else I use in Logic (plugins etc) runs perfectly well but Komplete 13 has caused me so much hassle I cannot help but get pissed off.

M1 and Monterey have been about for some time now so why has it taken so long for NI to do anything?

    Understandable!
However lifetime is limited so I wouldn't spend too much energy and ask for a refund or sell the licence ASAP!

I've got no issues with my K13 on my Win system but imho meanwhile high HW/OS/Driver etc. complexity leads to the effect that some complex audio and video SW won't run on every system. => Take it or leave it - regrettably!

Well it is not like NI are doing nothing (tho it's been a well known fact for 10 years they operate VERY slow in their updates and patches), a number of things are working on the new platform and I have heard for other things running under Rosetta compatibility will work.

This is a big reason (the main one) I personally do not use macOS for production work or anything I deem "critical". Not to say you suggest change but after watching this playfield for over 2 decades both as a user and as support personnel now and a user of both macOS and Windows daily my experience has been there are just so many of these ongoing issues with macOS with every update, especially since 10.14 and their "security preference" update.

The issue is Apple make all these breaking changes but as you have elegantly put it yourself, point at developers for not keeping up. This is a seemingly deliberate attempt to push developers out that are not serious about keeping pace, just like pushing users out that don't want to reinvest every 5 years in new tech. Question I have always had with their OS updates is WHY is it difficult to make an update that retains compatibility?

Hey there, I checked your conversations and I see you replied to my colleagues on dec 7th on an earlier request. Since then I also see that my colleagues got back to you again yesterday and also this morning. Please double check your spam folders if you didn't get them. I also pointed you to the right Knowledge Base article.

As for Monterey and M1 compatibility, to say that NI doesn't do anything is quite inaccurate, it involves really a lot of people working hard on it for a long time.
You can see that NI is not alone in this case for both M1 and Monterey:
    https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/apple-silicon-audio-compatibility-guide
    https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/monterey-audio-compatibility-chart-1

Plus, most of our products are now compatible with Monterey and for the M1 processors everything works when in Rosetta mode.

Yes, I contacted one of your colleagues: NI needed all the relevant details (Mac OS etc). Sadly this issue has still not been sorted. My external hard drive is 2 TB and yet Native Access will not allow me to place any of its files onto this disk. The people at Apple Support checked over my system via a 'computer share' app and they were as baffled as everybody else. I have tried formatting and reformatting the external hard drive but I ma still unable to put anything from Komplete 13 on to iy
