more/better options for recording length while sampling

I can set a pattern length to be 12 bars (its one of the predefined options) but i cant record that length in the sampler while using loop mode - So i have to mess about to adjust the loop length after the recording is done.
Specifically I'd like the option in the sampler to record to 12 bars in length (to match what is available in the predefined patterns lengths), but it would be nice to have an option to have the recording match the length of the current pattern (probably a common use case).
