Used my PowerBook64 1.67GHz, Tiger 10.4.4 for the first time at a gig.
    Traktor 3.0 version 3.0.1.108

    Ran into problems!
Had it set up as described in thread "Imic and Traktor3", roted deck Out B though the iMic.
Worked for a while, then suddenly, when starting up Deck B, I got a very "distorted" sound. Song played OK, but the sound quality, heavily digital stuff going on!!!
Deck A sounded OK. Then played the track from Finder through the system output and it sounded OK.

Maybe the iMic has a "shitty" D/A converter?

Anybody had the same thing happen?????

    Cheers

iMic is shitty, worse with OSX than it was with OS9.

my advice, you need to spend some proper money on something that will work.

The Creative MP3+ usb sound card works 100% with Mac, Win, and Linux. Only does 16bit/44.1 though has spdif I/O, RCA I/O, and mini plug ins and outs. For the same price as that gimmic iMic. Check it out, if you need a good cheap sound card.

Imic is not the "highest end" conversion tool ...but it should work fine...no reason of it's doing that would cause high level distortions..imic for what it is works great...and in a noisey club enviroment you Can't hear the difference between the imic or the higher priced M-audio device...I got both ..I also have the "Gigaport" which is a multi-channel 8 out unit...and it works great with Traktor and any of my Macs...powerbook or my new Imac 2.0

Don't dis the Imic....it is what it is...a low priced solution...that works fine
